@kingtito: im trying to say they aren't gonna take a $200 hit on consoles. If Lockhart cost $200 its gonna be a huge hit. I hope I'm wrong. I wouldn't mind a $400 next gen console but its just not gonna happen.

As good as this sounds this is gonna have some unintended consequences.
First is games that are only digital wont offer upgrades because there is no incentive to do so. Or they will sell a more expensive full version call the definitive addition for alot more. Either way if i had the original game I rather have the option to upgrade for a few bucks than rebuy the full game.
The second is that disk based games will not offer a digital upgrade for say 10 bucks but will force you to buy a new disk altogether.
Good effort but this is gonna backfire.
@kingtito: I know that but there is a time limit. They still have to make money back before the end of the console cycle. Psn/live/gamepass/psnow arent pure profit either. I would be really surprised if Microsoft is making money off of gamepass. Since they are giving away there first party games day one and all those $1 a month promotions they have been giving away.
Still dumb. They are not gonna lose $200 a console. Both Sony and MS need to make money by the end console cycle. If money wasn't a problem for MS mixer would not have shutdown 6 months into the service launching.
mixer.com says hello.
Wasn't the only reason 360 lost MS a ton of money was because of the 3 rings of death fiasco?
You crazy if you think Warners brothers is selling there batman ip. They will buy the studio but not the batman video game license.
This whole Microsoft has the money to loss is kind of stupid. Look what they did to Nokia, mixer, and Zune. If they don't make money they cut projects. And selling a console with a 7 year life cycle at that big of a loss is not gonna happen.
@rzxv04: You just missed it. It was going on from the 1st to the 17th.
@lundy86_4: if you do psnow month to month it cost the same as gamepass but you can get a year of psnow for $60. I recently got it for $40 for the whole year.
@lundy86_4: To be fair EA access also doesn't let you play games day one. But uplay and gamepass are a lot more expensive than psnow and ea access.
