Yeah when Dragon Age first launched i sort of ingored it because i was so busy playing MMORPG's my ps3 and 360 just collected dust.. Then eventually i broke down and purchased it for the p/c but by then the first few DLCs had launched and the whole time in the back of my head i felt like "man im missing out on something... this play though isnt gonna be nearly as good if i just purchased the DLC." When Awakening launched it put the nail in the coffin for me, i now knew i was missing out a whole nother experience and since I was unemployed at the time i didn't rush out and purchase any DLC instead i just quit playing DA:O..

There's been many other times since then that i've played the game, but each time it's been months inbetween and i sort of forget the story and whats going on so i force myself to restart, then get about 10 or so hours into the game again until I, again, feel like i'am missing out on a lot of content because of all the DLC.. I'am not at all bored when playing the game, i thouroughly enjoy it, but I always feel like i'am missing something.. So thats why i'am glad Ultimate Edition has now launched at a reasonable price ($50 at Game Spot.)

Even after putting 40hrs into the game i'am still only showing up as 26%complete in my character screen, i was wondering this includes the DLC even tho ive downloaded it.. Or if i'am really only 26%complete with the main game after 40hours of gameplay? And how much does the DLC (includeing Awakening) actually add up to in terms of game hours and all around enjoyment? Another thing i was told was that you should skip certain DLC's in the beggening because they may give away plot twists, is there a website that gives you what praticular order you should play the game + DLCs with? And my final question would be is the saves/choices you made in Dragon Age 1 gonna make any impact on how Dragon Age 2 plays out? Sorta like Bioware did with Mass Effect1&2 or KOTOR1&2..?

Thank you all.. I look forward to spending this next weekend playing through Dragon Age and its DLC too see what the experience that i've been missing!

Hmm all this talk of Resconse of Fate worries me as i was planning on picking this game up when it hit the bargain bin.. Man, JRPGs are running short on next-gen consoles.. It's a shame that companys like Namco Bandai release Splatter House instead of JRPGs like Shadow Hearts.. Atlus gave us Demon Souls but no good JRPG besides Disgaea for the ps3 which wasn't all that great.. Then Square Enix disapoints with FF13 which wasn't bad, but like i said, still disapoints.. Not to mention that other game they released a few months back about helping you're daughter or w/e.. That game was gonna be some big 6 series game but i dont think it even broke 100k sold in the USA it was that bad lol..

Ugh.. PS1/2 still have the best selection of JRPGs.. Only reason RPGs are doing good as a whole with next gen consoles is thanks to western rpgs like Mass Effect, Oblivion, and Fallout.

I play a lot of RPGs and the main thing that turns me off is 1) slow start.. 2) poorly written diolouge that brings down a story or a poor story all together.. 3) games that dont offer any character developement

I can forgive some games that have short single player campaigns if their multiplayers are worth it.. Take Black Ops for example i didn't even play the campaign but ive logged 30+ hours in its multiplayer and i consider that right there worth my $60.

Metal Gear Solid 4.

A story so bad that it still disappoints over two years later.

Runners-up would be:

The PS3 itself, for being the first system I ever spent more time updating than playing.

And the 360, for charging more for LIVE and paying portions of monthly LIVE dues to Activision for exclusive or early DLC. Shameful.

Shame-usBlackley

I'd consider MGS4 the best PS3 exclusive game released ever.. But thats just my opinion.

Heres my list -

P/C: The MMORPG Genre as a whole.. This year we saw releases of terrible MMO's! FFXIV was on the forefront and even 2months after release its still a terrible mess.. The one good MMORPG i saw released this year was Prepetuum.. And the only reason i say it's "good" is because it's from a 10man indy team.. It's very simular to EvE, but with mechs.. So if EvE wasn't you're thing Prepetuum isn't gonna be either.. I played it in open beta but it jus didn't have enough content to sway me from EvE or my current F2P MMO i'am playing.. Next year looks better though with Rift, TERA, SWTOR, Archeage, and GW2 being released.

When it comes to consoles i'd have to agree Alpha Protocol was a huge disapointment.. It was a game i had been following for over a year and the more and more gameplay videos i saw the more and more i knew i'd be disapointed with it.. Obsidians gameplay videos didn't even hide the terrible AI; it actually SHOWCASED the AI lol.. I was hopeing it'd be fixed at release but it wasn't.. Atleast they redeemed themselves with Fallout: New Vegas, but that game too was filled with its fair share of bugs.. And i don't know if its even been patched yet? I prolly put in about 40 hours until the bugs just got too unbearable now i been waiting a month for a new update last time i checked a few days ago it wasn't there.

Another game i was disapointed about would be Battlefield: BC2 and Medal of Honor.. I was mainly disapointed about BFBC2 because of the changes they made compared to BFBC1.. The maps were way more smalled and streamlined compared to BFBC1's HUGE massive maps.. They got rid of the motor gun.. And lets face it, ever since CoD released with prestigeing and stuff it seems like that kind of system would be perfect to implement into BFBC2 but it wasnt.. The customization compared to CoD is embaressing.. Hopefully they do better on BFBC3.. And Medal of Honor played like a inferiour CoD IMO.

But lots of good games this year too.. Still playing Black Ops :)

I'm asking because Project Dark's developers are Namco Bandai.

RickyRevolver

Project dark is being made by From software. Atlus only published Demon's souls in America, Sony published it in Asia and Namco bandai in Europe.

those are actually developers!?

Wow I feel like such an idiot

Isnt Software the developer behind Growlancer Generations? I remember reading their name on the back of the box :)

Either way i was hopeing Namco didn't buy Atlus.. Atlus is my favorite game developers/publishers from overseas.. They always deliver.. And we need Persona 5!

Diablo 3.. I played D2 for about 8 years since after it was released.. I made good money saleing duped items on ebay too when the bonewall+meteor dupe wasn't patched.. Very fun game, still has the best class system to date.. So many possibilites with charms/rune combos/ect.. Diablo 3 will be awsome..

I'am still on the fence about cataclysm.. I bought WoW about 4 months ago (includeing its expansions + 90 day game card) and only played it for about 3 weeks until i couldnt force myself to log in anymore.. Way too many instances, that were extremley boring and repetitive.. The game feeled like it was playing itself for me when i was just there for the ride.. No challange.. No world pvp.. No mass pvp.. I actually prefered AION waaaaaaaaaaaay more..

But i hear Cataclysm will be introduceing a new wintergrasp type battlefield.. That might be enough for me to give it another shot as when i tried to play Wintergrasp it was always dead.. And thats the main reason i bought WOTK and such was because i wanted some fort battles.. Fort battles were my favorite thing about AION and i thought they'd be even more epic on WOW.. But they were dead, just like AIONs was when i left it lol.

No i havnt played Lunar series actually.. I think i've seen it before but never got into it.

Another RPG that caught my eye was Valkyre Profile2: Slimeria or w/e.. Any idea if this game is good or not? Seems like it has a more mature plot which is something im seeking.

Dracula68

I've only played the original on the PSX. Seems Silmeria got good scores though.

Yeah it looks ok on the reviews i'd just like to know more about the story..

For some reason i can't really get into JRPGs that bring mass ammounts of humor into their video games.. And it's really hard to find JRPGs with more mature plots.. Anyone know if Valkyre Profile 2 delivers on its plot in this way? Is there good character developement?

Either way i went and purchased KOTOR2 yesterday with the money i got for returning the games.. I had to buy it after i beat #1 and force persuaded zalbaar to kill mission LOL.. That was freaking epic! Best 10 seconds of a video game IMO.. So far #2 seems just as good as #1 but with a bit of a face lift and more diologue (which for me is always a good thing.)

After i finish KOTOR2 i think Growlanser Generations or Valkyrie Profile 2 will be my next purchase.. Followed my Xenogears!

lol i passed out last night at 7am woke up today at 4.. Now im wondering what kinda fast food place would be open (its almost 6 now) because i didn't ANYTHING yesterday lol.. Gonna go stop by Taco Bell or something, then grab a Rockstar, then get in my 8hrs of video games haha.. Either gonna play my MMORPG of choice right now (Heroes of Three Kingdoms) or continue playing KOTOR2 which i bought yesterday and is AWSOME.. I finished KOTOR1 in 6 days and omg that game is epic.. Almost makes me sad that we wont ever be seeing a KOTOR3.. Then again i have faith in Biowares MMORPG to deliver.
