Well, I have no idea if your ino RTS' or RPGs', but here are some RTS recommanedations:
Warcraft 3 Warchest (Not WoW):
A great core RTS by itself, but an excellent mod system easily make this a great buy. Sometimes I feel there are ore mod games going on than real ones.(As soon as you enter a mod game, you automatically download it, and even total conversion mods download in seconds. DotA is one of the most famous of these. Unfortunately, my WC 3 is borrowed and the owner asked for it back.)
World in Conflict:
This game is a great RTS, although it's much less strateghy and more tactics. Both factions use the same unit pool, but there are slight differences in both sides' unit. This game doesn't have tradition fog of war. You can see the whole battlefield, but you can not see if any units are present. Blindfiring is somewhat a good tactic whrere you think the oponent will go. A great specialsupport sometimes give this tactical game an arcadish feel, bit it's surprisigly tactical. Now, I recpmmend downloadingh the demo. It's free, of course, but it comes with full multiplayer support. You can join clans, play ranked and unranked games, automatch, etc, and all for free (but only on one map). (I'm on the demo.)
