Last Jedi just confirms Rey is a Mary Sue. She doesn't come from anyone special, yet she's one of the most powerful Jedi ever to exist even with very limited training. She bested Kylo Ren in both a mind game and a lightsaber duel even though Kylo has been training at least since he was an early teenager. She also was able to master flying the freaking Falcon at her first try. Seriously, I'm all for gender equality but not at the expense of making the Male characters just look weak in comparison. You don't need to make the Female lead ridiculously overpowered.
