Well, I'm glad to know it wasn't just me, but apparently is some kind of glitch in the game. http://forum.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?t=337020 I had to replay the level 3 times before that stupid door opened, but at least I can now move on and finish the game.

So I just got an Xbox 360 specifically to play through the Halo campaigns. I'm playing Halo 2 and I'm on level 15: The Great Journey, sublevel: Delusions and Granduer, playing as the Arbitar. Right at the beginning of this sublevel, after Sgt. Johnson blows the door open using the scarab, you go in and take out the half dozen or so brutes. Ok, good - done. Now I know the door on the right is SUPPOSED to be open, but in my game, it's not. I reloaded from the last checkpoint and played again, I've even replayed the entire level in case it was a one time-glitch. But that door is _never_ open. So I can't proceed. I know it's supposed to be open because I've even watched a damn walkthrough on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXB7ZtM8QeI At 8:15, there is the door, open after the Arbiter kills the brutes. What is wrong with my game? Am I being stupid and there is something else I was supposed to do for that door to be open?? What is the problem?? Thanks.

Ok, so I'm going to buy an Xbox 360 this season. The main reason I want it is that I want to play through the Halo series campaigns. I played the original Halo CE on my PC years ago, and damnit, I want to play and know what happens in all the tantalizing sequels! So yeah, I'm obviously behind the times by a decade or so. That said, I want to play Halo 2 before I move on to the other sequels, and Halo 2 is of course an Xbox (not 360) title. I know the 360 is backwards-compatible and can run Halo 2, but can I play it without the 250G hard drive? I'm planning on getting a 3rd party HD to compliment the standard 4gig that the cheaper 360 comes with. I don't care if I can't install Halo 2 on the 3rd party drive, I'm fine running it off the disc and dealing with the noise and longer load times. But can I save my progress on the 3rd party drive? Or will the standard 4G be enough to save progress with Halo2? After Halo 2, I'll be moving on to the other Halo titles, and I know I can just use the 3rd party hard drive for them. (Right?) If anyone has any advice on this, I'd love to hear it. I'm not sure how much it matters, but I won't be using xbox live, since I'm on a satellite connection with a bandwidth cap. So I hope I can play these campaigns without having to download anything. Thanx in advance. Also, on a side note... can I expect to find better deals on this stuff -before- or -after- christmas?
