SONY are probably the most likely
There business is already losing money in other departments (movies etc)
Nintendo are making a little bit on GC and LOADS on DS
Microsoft make TONS anyways
Microsoft could pull out if 360 doesn't make money, they are a business that don't need gaming so if it isn't doing well they could pull out.
Ninty would probably be the last because they NEED gaming, losing that would mean the dreaded A word "administration"
They are pretty much all different.
Most follow the storyline of "Link must save Zelda and Hyrule" but more and more games have him saving different people/places/things.
It is now deemed that Link is different in almost every game, a new LINK is born when he is needed.
BUT
It is likely that the Link in OOT and Majoras Mask are the same, plus there is a possibility that Link in TP will be the one from OOT. It is also likely that the LINK in Zelda 1 and Zelda 2 (NES) are the same because they were pretty much advertised as a sequal.
The stories do NOT follow on, for the most part. WW followed on from OOT but only slightly and the story did not follow at all. TP is also said to link yo WW in some way.
BUT you do not need to have played one Zelda game to understand the next
I could consider myself a sheep so I will have my input
I do not complain that PS2 and Xbox have boring but gory games. What I complain about is people righting Nintendo games off just by the way they look. They see cartoony and think flat, easy game. In fact many Nintendo games get hard at the end and in no way just designed for little children.
We sheep have to push gameplay because people always assume it will be boring because of the graphics.
I think nintendo offer GREAT graphics and GREAT gameplay. I also think Halo2 is the game of this generation (my gamertag is my username) and the PS2 has some great playing games with God of War and MGS being the stand outs.
So, no, I do not think nintendo offer superior gameplay but they do offer A LOT more than what people assume.
THE END
