I wouldn't say a redesign is impossible, but I wouldn't hold out for one. Go ahead and pick up your XL. Especially if you can find a good Christmas sale on it.

It's not that hard, if you've played a SRPG before you should have no problem. If you haven't...you should still be just fine.

What did you think of Solatorobo?

turtlethetaffer

Its pretty good. It's one of those "better than the sum of its parts" type of games. It has a lot of different elements thrown in that keep it engaging and fun. But the combat itself is pretty simple. And the graphics are beautiful, some of the best on the DS. It's a game I feel is worth a shot, it was a nice break of pace for me from the very heavy rpgs I normally play such as Disgaea, Persona, or the aforementioned Chrono Trigger. Its a light rpg. If you're looking into it and it interests you, give it a shot. But try to stick with it, the first couple hours didn't hook me, but it got better.

You don't need to sell me on it, I've already played it. :P Yeah I agree wit pretty much everything you said. I loved the development o the world and characters, and it has arguably the best production values on the DS. Great game.

Oh sorry, I thought you were asking because you hadn't played it. :P

we have devil survivor overclocked! that game is amazing :D plus its fully voice acted and ive put so many hours into it.

Yes, but it is essentially the same game as the DS one. It does of course have minor changes, but its a port. I absolutely love this game and its unique battle system. But the 3DS needs an original RPG, and Bravely Default fits the bill perfectly.

I've gone back to play 999 before I get to Virtue's Last Reward on the 3DS.

As for other recently completed games: Solatorobo and Chrono Trigger(2nd playthrough).

So many things that are wrong with this post. If you want people to take you seriously, you need to take the post seriously yourself. The grammar skills being displayed here are simply mind-boggling. I'm not usually one to get picky over grammar, but this is blatantly atrocious. When you take the time to put out a post with some semblance of being coherent, then I will take the time to pick apart your flawed points.

wow this topuic is for gamers not picky aholes

At no point was I an ahole, in fact by insulting me, you sir are the ahole. Clearly you're just a new user and you need to learn how to use the english language. If you want people to respect you than you need to show some care in your posts. I'm not being picky, I have no problem with people who make occasional abbreviations for time's sake. But your post is, and I will reiterate from my previous comments, blatantly atrocious. Its hard for me to have a gaming conversation with someone who's language leaves the impression that they are immature and careless.

Parappa the Rapper of course!:P

Are there other games I should be playing?

MonkeySpot

"Parappa" is an awesome choice, and I'm glad to hear there's a legal way to be playing it on a PSP - Thanks Rusty!

:D

I'm playing some FFVIII right now in between levels of "Resistance: Retribution"... But there are plenty of great games on the system you "should" play... Most certainly. That's why I started this thread, to spark each other into great games on UMD or PSN DDLs... the PSP gets ignored these days on the forum, but it's alive and well in my heart, I'll tell ya what!

;)

Really nice to see so many responses, I thought it would be crickets in here! But I guess there are a few of you who feel the same as I do... Nice to know I'm not alone. Been thinking about digging out my copy of "Silver Star Harmony" soon, that game reminds me of Winter for some reason. My hand-held systems always get more exercise in the Winter...

:P

I think it's going to be a good winter for a nice deep bottomless-pit RPG... I can feel it.

I feel the same way, I'm digging out some deep handheld rpgs I can get into like Disgaea and Persona. And Silver Star Harmony is a fantastic game, I absolutely love it.

It wouldn't surprise me if it did. The 3DS needs an RPG like this and I think it would sell pretty well. If it is announced it will be one of my top 3 most anticipated 3DS games.
