Well Ive gotta say, this is amazing this company has reduced the price so much it's not even funny!

Take a look for yourself! http://www.gamestop.com/wii/games/xenoblade-chronicles-gamestop-exclusive/98535

Ps: Sarcasm intended. But seriously does anyone know why they would just randomly lower the price? Would it be because of everyone complaining about it being so high? And has anyone here picked up a copy for the 90 dollar price tag, if so do you think that it was worth the price? I personally loved Xenoblade Chronicles, but then i sold it like a noob and now i have to rebuy it before they dissapear again. Oh they also lowered Metroid Prime trilogy's price also.

Skward Sword has precise controls that almost never fail. Great upgrade system which could've been better but overall a great addition to the series. Good inventory selection screen which is very fluid and easy to use. Flying around was fun but the whole skyworld was completely barren and lacking in exploration. I wouldnt say that the backtracking was bad but there was just few things to actually go back for other than a heart piece and the main story. There was faaar to much hand holding from fii, there should always be a way to shut it off. Overall playing through the game my first time I collected everything within 50 hours and it was fairly easy fighting the enemies. But on hero mode added a good amount of difficulty especially in Boss battle mode which was by far one of the hardest things to get through in any zelda i could say. Not enough enemy types. Overall i would give the game a 9/10.

Twilight princess has a great story and the only one that rivals it in that regard would be majora's mask which i like a little less then TP. The gameplay was esentially the same as other main console 3D zeldas other then the fact you can unlock other moves which greatly makes up for the familar sword play. The beginning for some was irritating but for me I loved the slow start, feeling as if Link was just another person in this village going about his daily life and then things go down. The overworld was huge and felt more alive to me then any other zelda. There are plenty of little side quests to do which i cant name off the top of my head but ones that come to mind are the Trials in the desert which was fairly difficult my first time through the game, but once you got the patterns down for the harder enemies it was easy for me. The characters are bursting with personality like Midna who is by far the best AI companion in any zelda. Zant is one of the greater new villians but it was a little predicatable to see him become ganondorfs pupet, but now looking back, it was neccacary cause the few times gannondorf is present he is the spotlight villian for me. His back story half way through the game showed how brutal he could actually be. It also makes me feel good knowing its the same one from the beginning of Ocarina of time who was caught and imprisoned. Overall Twilight princess is not only my favorite zelda game, its most likely my favorite game of all time. I would gladly give it a 10/10.

So Tp for me obviously.

Oh look, another "Wii-U=Dreamcast" thread.

QUIKnEZ

Truth hurts. Wii U's done... it's own Executives are buying consoles to bolster sales

Not a shred of truth to anything you just said though. Wii U's far from done, so is the entire next generation why not wait and see how things turn out cause you don't know whats going to happen, the internet doesn't, even the companies themselves don't so please stop acting like you know what your talking about.

That's cool, but does he actually tell you exactly how the formula works, and list out how each individual pokemon you battle affects those stats? I'm going to wager no, because it's a behind the scenes formula the creators had no intention of letting the player know about in the first place.

Renegade_Fury

Are you talking about EV's or IV's. IV's is a random set of base stats a pokemon gets (Between 0-31). EV's are points you get that goes towards a specific stat when you defeat a pokemon in battle.

Both, I guess. You need to manipulate both stats and breed to get exactly what you want in the end, regardless.

When you go to the npc he says what your pokemons strengths are. It doesnt give an exact number of how many it has but its still not a hidden factor anymore. Ev training is ridiculously easy just so you know. Getting the PKRS is the hardest part about it really. If say im try to ev train my special attack in Black 2. MY charmander will get 1 point for every litwick knocked out. With the sp.attack power item on he'll get five points each litwick knocked out, and if he has the power item annd the PKRS he'll get ten ev points for every litwick. If I give my charmander ten Calciums he'll be given a hundred points on the spot. Then guess how many litwicks id have to knock out to be completely done with ev training the SP.attack? 15. And if you dont play competitively you really should'nt worry about the IVS.

I personally loved it and the cut scenes for it. I just feel like they couldve done a lot more with it. For the most part SS what really simple, push foward knock this and that out. The enemy variety was really good though, kept having new enemies to fight through out the whole thing. I also liked the overall story to it to and the way all the characters came toghther and the match ups there were. The cutscenes in it were so well done and so awesome to watch. I was hoping for some new bad##s ones with better fights between the characters.

Quote: "Unfortunately, the movie scenes we worked hard to create were uploaded onto the internet." Sakurai wrote. "You can only truly wow a player the first time he sees [a cutscene]. I felt if players saw the cutscenes outside of the game, they would no longer serve as rewards for playing the game, so I've decided against having them."

This is very dissapointing indeed. I feel like this is just a way for nintendo to back up there stance on lets plays. I love nintendo but this is just childish of them.

The highest rated game of all time? That was how many years ago?

SolidTy

You know what i liked that response cause you make decent points in that post. But I feel like the fact that the game was realeased over 13 years ago and is STILL number one just makes my point even stronger.

Actually it doesn't make your point stronger if you do research. I don't want to interject, I just want to add something I learned a long, long time ago that you either aren't aware of, or you may be overlooking intentionally. I hope of the former.

Those are amazing games to be sure (I own and beat all of them when they were new), but there are far more critical reviewers today by the hundreds than there were back then. If we look at Zelda OoT, it only had 22 reviewers at Metacritic, and even less reviewers if you go even further back to earlier NES or Atari games. You had a dozen, maybe two dozen reviewers tops and that was it back then.

What is more impressive is current games like Galaxy, TLOU, Bioshock Infinite, Galaxy 2, Uncharted 2, GTA4, RE4, Zelda TP, MGS, etc. and games of that ilk that get bombarded with a hundred plus reviews and still stand above 94+.

My point is, don't just look at the metascore, but train your eyes to HOW many reviewers reviewed the title AS WELL. As you should know, the more reviewers you add on a game/movie/product, the higher likelyhood that those averages will lower that product's score eventually.

tl;dr :

What is more impressive?

A 98/100 metascoring game with 5 reviews.

OR

A 96/100 metascoring game with 95 reviews.

The latter is more impressive to me by a landslide considering how after so many reviews, the product still performed admirably. I'm sure these mystery products are both fantastic, but there is more comparing highest rated games of all time than meets the eye.

----

Please, carry on your discussion, I just wanted to briefly offer counsel on metacritic/gameranking flaws that many younger gamers don't consider at all in these forums. That's why I frown on Greatest Games of all time discussions when they attempt to use these score accumulation websites. I didn't even get into weights (a whole different story.)

Well when your right your right. I was aware of that but i just forgot at the time of my post. Wow i cant believe i forgot about that. But thanks for the heads up. I will not be making that mistake again.

I'm honest about the situation that Nintendo is currently in

When talking about the console side of Nintendo's dealings there's not much good to say right now.

I mean you have a console that's doing abysmal sales and has set the record for having literally no games at all

You see a lot to go crazy about?

Jaysonguy

Just so you know im not trying to single you out or anything like that. And I agree with you that it is selling bad. But saying it has no games? Have you seen the last E3? I get it YOU may not like what they had to offer but it is ridiculous to say that every single one of those games are going to be bad. Nintendo LITERALLY has highest scored game in video game history. You have to admit that you exaggerate wildly about nintendo. Try to keep an open mind about things man, its just sad almost in a genuine way that you always feel the need to point out the obvious faults a nintendo system has.

E3 talked about games that will show up at the end of the year, 2014 and 2016.

The highest rated game of all time? That was how many years ago?

When you talk about Nintendo you have to talk in the moment and right now there's nothing. No one is going to spend money on promises that Nintendo is making for the future.

I like Nintendo games, I have a ton, enough to get platinum every year but holy cow now is not a very good time for the company.

You know what i liked that response cause you make decent points in that post. But I feel like the fact that the game was realeased over 13 years ago and is STILL number one just makes my point even stronger. But if you want current there is the Galaxy games which were very recent and both were review very highly. But games take time to make. Esepecially good ones, nintendo knows that why dont you? and if you buy alot of nintendo games why bash it every chance you get? Cmon man im sure your better than that. But as of now there are only a handful of decent games for the wii u your right about that, but if you honestly like nintendo games to get platinum status every year your the type of fan whos in it for the long hall like many other fans who will in fact wait with excitement for there new games.
