I understand. I was forced to move to this city from another Tx city. I happen to despise this city for reasons other than yours...I moved here because my parents moved here because they thought they wanted to be out of California, we all agree it was the worst choice we have ever made. Once I finish school, I'm outta this joint.

I should have said "dsiplayed", he didn't fire the weapon, but it's a AK man that type of stuff scares the $hit out of me just looking at it.

Grow a sack.
I'd rather just make friends with like minded individuals and just not be around those that own firearms. I honestly can't wait to get out of Texas, because all of the conservatives and gun advocates have begun to take it toll on me. I used to work retail, and everyday I have to either "hear the word of the lord", about how the president is a muslim, or about how killing deer is the greatest thing ever. Someone please get me out of this place!!Why are you here? Also say something about the preaching i know i would have, also i am a gun owner but i dont like hunting unless im in a survival type of situtation. Even then i will use every part of the animal i can...[QUOTE="hartsickdiscipl"]You know what's great about that guy's house? If someone breaks in and threatens him and/or his family, he can deal with the problem without having to hope he can sneak a call to 911 and wait 20 minutes for the cops to show up. He can defend his own damn home and life.Planeforger
Is America so completely screwed up that people don't even feel safe in their own homes without an automatic weapon close at hand?
If so, I might just change my mind about the whole gun control issue.
Don't get me wrong - gun restrictions/bans are ideal in most developed countries - but the gun advocates in these thread keep making me think that living in the US is twice as deadly as Bosnia and Syria combined. If that's the case, then by all means stay armed, and pray that you can one day migrate to one of the many nations where people don't have to worry about such things.
You have to have a FFL for having automatic weapons legally sirIn case you aren't aware, one just happened in Texas a few hours ago. Only a couple hurt though.[QUOTE="JustPlainLucas"][QUOTE="hartsickdiscipl"]
Have you ever considered the possibility that some things in a game may be realistic, while others are obviously not? Nice try. I'd like to see some idiot try to shoot up a theater in Texas. He might take out a few people, but he'd go down before he shot nearly as many as were hit in Aurora.
hartsickdiscipl
That's what happens when you start shooting in public places in Texas. Somebody draws a gun and drops you before you can do much damage.
I know i would, I am a CHL holder[QUOTE="Yusuke420"]
There was another shooting here in TX in a movie theater tonight, but it doesn't seem like anyone was killed.
CKYguy25
another one?
It was Sunday evening. A 19 year old that worked at a chinese place, close to theater. Apparently was mad at his lady friend and wigged out. Shot a bystander in the parking lot leading to the theater, went inside fired one shot and was shot by an off duty moonlighting deputy. Currently in SAMC in stable condition, along with the bystander. Now since he was 19 the pistol was either a friends or family members or one that he purchased off someone unreputable. I live in the city where happened. Its not unlikely given that side of town it was on. Happens quite often. Though still more vehicle deaths this year than anything else in Tx.[QUOTE="Ncsoftlover"]However, if they want to get a gun....they will get one. Period. Exactly^You can claim every one of those who flip out and kill people because a gun is close by as "the mentally ill", that's dehumanizing a group of people for political benefit. The truth is, with more limited access to guns, a lot of tragedy can be avoided. Whether they're mentally ill or not is beside the point. A mentally ill person can't kill 27 with merely knife, that is the reality.

Today's events are terrible. That being said, it is not the fault of media or video games or even gun laws. These were the actions of a very sick individual. We have only to look at human history to see how horrible we can be to each other, even before modern technology.[QUOTE="cell_dweller"][QUOTE="mattisgod01"]
When the right to bare arms conflicts with the right to live then something must give.

I don't want powerful weapons in the hands of lunatics just like i don't want Nuclear weapons in the hands of Terrorists.
His mental state was the motivation, Guns were the tools. You cannot prevent lunatics from emerging in society, The least we can do is prevent them from gaining easy access to means of mass killing.
Ok you want to talk about easy access. I can go a mile down the road and talk to the right person and get a "hot" gun for like 2 bills. So getting them is not that complicated to begin with.
[QUOTE="Dark__Link"]Mustang. First gen easily trumps the fourth and fifth. Second and third don't even belong in the discussion, ew.FightingfanThe FoxBody gen is amazing. I 2nd this, damn i miss my car :(
