I thought that everything in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. except for the character models looked amazing, and the characters didn't look bad. The environments (both indoor and outdoor) are spectacular. It's one of the moodiest games that I have ever seen. Pripyat just looks amazing and so does the power plant when you finally get to it. The visual payoff for all of the hard work that you do to get to the end is wonderful.
I downloaded and installed it, then I click on the icon on the desktop but it just opens steam, it wont let me play it.-chronogears-
Try opening up your "My Games" tab in steam and right clicking on it. Then scroll down to "launch game" and that oughta do it. Same thing happened to me.
If Episode 2 is anything like Episode 1, then the $29 will be a total ripoff. I don't see why Valve are being so negligent of people who have already played their games and just want Episode 2. Instead they're pushing this "Orange Box" crap that hardly anybody who played Half-Life 2 and Episode 1 is going to want. $29 for a short expansion pack? No thanks. I'll wait until it drops below $20, which I don't think is going to take too long.
Halo 3 will come to the PC some day, but it will probably be in two years or so. Microsoft won't want to move it to the PC until they're sure that it has sold all of the XBox 360's that it can sell. I'd like to see it sooner than that, but oh well.
I loved it up until it was about 2/3 of the way through. Then it takes a big turn for the worse. Some of the save points in the game are spaced way too far apart and I hated fighting that boss chick where you have to throw thoseexploding tanks at her. The controls for picking up stuff and throwing it didn't work very well in the PC version of the game. It was great fun other than that though. I especially like how you can mind control guys and smash them in machines and the game will keep track of how many guys you do that to. :lol:
I thought that the length was just right. The game sorta dragged on for me a little bit towards the end. For about the last hour or so, and the story isn't as good once you get about 2/3 through. It took me about 15 hours to finish it. Maybe more. I think that's perfect length for a shooter as long as it's not too repetitive. There are a lot of games out there that are just too short (like Half-Life 2: Episode 1)
