I recently bought a ps3. I still have my 360 and Wii sitting tight... For the time being I am still buying games for the 360 that are cross platform; I only got my ps3 for the current exclusives. A lot of people over look this factor but in my opinion Sony have better exclusives at this moment. God of War / MGS / Little Big Planet / Uncharted (I prefer it to Tomb raider; and I have been playing TR since the original)... So yeah I still think for cross platform the 360 is the better choice due to the frame rate issues; but the playstation 3 certainly has value to it now... Considering I initially said I would never own one I think this is a real credit to how the PS3 is starting to make it's mark on gamers.

Oh and REALLY OFF-TOPIC BUT.... I actually agreed with Geoff on twilight princess, I am not by any means saying it was a bad game; but when you look at how new galaxy feels compared to older mario's; you just wish TP took just a few more risks... oh and on Mario it doesn't matter as much, but i do feel TP should have been just a touch harder considering how refined the controls feel (in my opinion anyway, they work beautifully). ON-Topic But yeah Galaxy is just an instant classic. I still play through all of the MB's now and again (other than sunshine actually) and i see Galaxy joining the collection of games that you will just now and then want to go back too, even if it is just to revisit a neat trick you found on your first play through. I really can't stress how giddy this game makes me feel (if i may use a unique term). It's just so refreshing and exhilirating.

"i have played galaxy as with all nintedo games great fun if you are a 10yr old kid but all nintendo homebrew are to childish for my likeing ninteno for the kids 360/ps3 for the adults " Quote I am getting fed up with this closed minded opinion. I happen to have a 360 and a Wii. And you honestly can not even begin to cmpare the systems, it just should not be done, they are both pitching in very different leagues for starters. And second of all... I am 20, I have a mate whose 24 and married, and we both absolutely LOVE galaxy. Is it a touch on the easy side? Yes. Is it insanely fun and the best platformer to hit any system in a very long time? Absolutely!! This game really does blow away the standards for platforming; and once its running on a hd widescreen it actually looks really slick and smooth for what it is. There isn't a huge difference between galaxy and shine but their are some subtle touches that just smooth out the rough edges that shine had such as smoother edges, reflective services, some texture detail, better defined stars, much more varied levels. In short, Galaxy is a must have for any Wii owner - whether you are 10 or 100.

HD isn't everything... I think that HD is a nice accessary but not a nessessity... A lot of people have a 360 / ps3 but don't have a HD t.v. Does that mean that they shouldn't have bothered getting them? (not trying to be argumentitive, I just don't see HD as that big of a deal atm).

r0ger_d70r -: You don't have to be 10 to love Mario. I am 20 years old currently doing a degree and I STILL think the Mario games are just in a different league all together when it comes to platforming games. I agree they are sometimes a bit easy but they are just so bursting with character and life that you can't not giggle like a school girl when you play them ^^... In all seriousness Galaxy looks simply amazing (in terms of gamplay and imaginitive design)and easily one of the top Wii titles to date. The graphics aren't too much better but their are some subtle detailed changes which i think makes the whole thing look smoother. Yes, I do own a 360 incase anyone starts with the whole this game isn't for real gamer's thing but I just personally see more charm into something like Galaxy than yet another Fifa game...

I honestly felt this E3 was smaller in terms of games. I just didn't feel the need to watch every second of it like I did in previous years. 360 and ps3 have great line ups at the moment at least though.

At this moment in time there isn't a lot between DX9 and 10 in terms of graphics because all games that are out are designed for DX9. Once we see some DX10 specific games I think it will look amazingly better. And yeah; also remember that DX10 will allow new levels of physics and a much better draw distance. All in all I am really looking forward to the rise of DX10.

The list is pretty good but I would have at least added Lumines for the psp - Real cheap and easy to find and great for passing some time.

Halo 3 doesn't look all that much better than 2. Especially when you compare to games such as Bioshock which to be frank, absolutely slaughter's Halo 3 in terms of graphics. However Halo 2 and now 3 does have addictive gameplay and that's the key feature about them. I personally am uncertain whether I will play H3 beyond the beta just for the fact that there are so many other FPS's out and coming out that I don't feel the need to own them all. But I am sure the single player will be a fantastic campeign; especially as they have the mistakes from 2 to guide them along the right path (this is referring ONLY to the single player here). (Just to clarify; Darkness, Bioshock and mass effect and 3 big shooter's that are out soonish).

I actually really liked this article. I think it is fair. It isn't saying that the ps3 is going to outright fail, just that it needs to expand as the 360 did in it's first year. As for the whole price thing, it is way too much for a console system. i have had almost every main stream home console system including the dreamcast, GCN, Wii, PS 1, Ps 2, Xbox and 360 now(just the later ones of course) but I out right refuse to pay for the ps3. Even IF they manage to sort out the problems that they are having and start to release games that look a little better than the 360 (which is possible once developers learn to work with the hardware), it is a LOT of money for just a small upgrade. This isn't about being a fanboy but you have to wake up and smell common sense. The 360 has better stability, a good host of games out and on it's way, and a fair enough price tag to boot. The Wii has innovation beyond any other console and has allowed nintendo to become more quirky than ever before, all sony are pitching is the blu-ray and hardware which just isn't enough at this moment. I would buy a ps3 sometime in the future if that price tag was cut a bit, but for what you are getting it just is not worth it at the moment, and it's worrying that some people can't realise that. Then again it isn't all bleak, the 360 really took off on it's second year so hopefully for sony's sake, the ps3 will aswell.
