The way I was thinking of doing it, it's basically equally difficult (or equally easy? All about perspective) to have simultaneous players or to have it persist until the other guy logs on.

I'll just have to take the time to sit down and do it. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Actually, that game would work really well in a spreadsheet.

These things generally work better when all players are logged in simultaneously, but you know, the rotation of the Earth and all.

I guess that's just the laziness talking. I could do that.

I think it'd be a better exercise to persist moves on the server, than to generate something to be emailed.

Not a bad idea, it's a fairly simple game. And it'll be a lot easier to make if we trust the players not to break the rules, since rules enforcement is a little more difficult to make than most other parts. I'll have to rig it up to persist moves (and probably show what the last move was), since you and I log on about 12 hours apart.

So what I said before about web applications is now even more true. I could code up a fairly complex game, with a server and a database for persisting user data & multiplayer, as long as it doesn't have crazy 3d graphics, because they take a ton of time and are difficult to do in a browser. You're better at designing these things than I am, so you think we could work something up that makes for a decent experience?
