From Software at least knows how to design good combat and movement controls, so they win this battle easily.

I honestly don't consider CD Projekt Red to be a good developer when it comes to gameplay. Some people can seem to overlook their crappy gameplay because they love other things that they do well, but gameplay is by far the most important thing to me and I can't overlook the fact that CD Projekt Red sucks at gameplay.

I have about 6 games that I have not got around to playing yet, but it's not because I don't care about them. I intend to eventually play these games.

As far as buying games that I don't really care about because of a sale, I don't do that anymore. I keep a list of the games that I most want to play and if I see a game that is on sale but it is not already on my list, I refuse to buy it no matter how great the deal is because I know that if I did not care enough about this game to add it to my list prior to seeing this deal then it will just be an impulse buy that will either end up as wasted money or take time away from getting to the games on my list that I really want to play the most.

I expect Microsoft to do better than they did this generation and I expect Sony to do a little worse than they did this generation. Sony will still probably win overall in worldwide sales, but it will be much closer than it was this generation and I expect Microsoft to reclaim the lead in America.

Nintendo is kind of on their own separate generation cycle at this point, so it's hard to compare them and I have no idea when they will release their next console.

Can you buy a new physical copy of the game?

Yes, you can. And you will even still be able to buy a new physical copy of the game 20 years from now. I just bought a new sealed copy of a 20 year old Dreamcast game recently. With physical media, even if the game stops being produced, there will still be new physical copies in circulation that can be purchased and an even greater number of used copies.

With digital games, on the other hand, once they get pulled , you can no longer purchase them.

I don't understand how some people can keep seeing stuff like this happen and yet still want an all-digital future.

We need to support physical media for as long as possible.

I could see there being a version for under $500 if they go the route of releasing a high end and a low end version at the same time. The high end version would be at least $500 though and only a fool would buy the low end version.

The one that stands out in my mind was the kiosk for the launch of the Gamecube since it completely changed what games that I decided to buy with my Gamecube.

I remember the games that I was looking forward to at that time were Luigi's Mansion, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, and Wave Race, but as I tried them on the kiosk, I wasn't really caring for them very much. I then decided to try a weird game called Super Monkey Ball which wasn't even on my radar as a potential purchase at that time, but I fell in love with it.

I ended up buying Super Monkey Ball along with my Gamecube instead of those other games and Super Monkey Ball ended up being one of my top 3 games of that generation. Had it not been for that kiosk, I would have been disappointed with the games that I got at launch and I might never have even given Super Monkey Ball a chance.

Between my Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, I get everything that I want.

My Xbox One lets me play all of the 3rd party games that I care about with the best controller ever made and also offers me the best online service to play with my friends.

My Nintendo Switch gives me access to the Nintendo exclusives and retro-style games that I love.

My PC with the HTC Vive gives me access to the best VR experience with room-scale tracking which is the thing that really makes VR great.

I also had a PS4 up until last year, but it was just gathering dust and offering no value to me anymore after Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy went multiplat so I sold it. It can't provide room-scale VR like the HTC Vive can and VR without room-scale is lame, I don't like it's movie-game exclusives like how I love Nintendo's exclusives, and I much rather play multiplats on my Xbox One due to it's superior controller and online service. I would rebuy the PS4 if it ever offers something of value to me as I don't like to miss out on something that I want to play but unless something changes, the system is currently completely useless to me.

I'll check out the reviews before I make my ultimate decision, but probably not. I've never really been a fan of the Metroidvania style. I much prefer the Classicvania style.
