This game is without a doubt the most under-loved game ever made. It isn't underrated, since it has a 94 % Metacritic score. But this one game encapsulates every major thing a game can do. It's funny. It has the most varied campaign of any action game (of all kinds and sub-genres). It is surprising from start to finish of its lengthy 16 hour campaign. It does things that would be near impossible or very difficult to do in modern game engines. It's the best example of a stealth action hybrid yet. Its creativity is rivaled only by Portal. It even has something to say for women's rights. Not to Mention it has the greatest female character in video games. You can keep your Samus Arans and Lara Crofts. They've got nothing on Cate Archer
Best level design in an action game period.
The first level of this game is larger than the entirety of Shadow Mosses Island. Despite not being open world, it has a campaign that lasts nearly 23 hours. The entirety of which can be completed without even being seen once. The Best stealth game of all time
The best sequel of all time for the best game of all time.
My favourite 3D platformer of all time. Throwing out silly things like lives systems and emphasised more on precision platforming than Mario or Banjo ever did in their 3D outings.
You don't need to have a "serious" and "mature" story for it to be a great. A game that told a story like a game and not a movie like most "GOTY Bait" games like TLOU and Metal Gear. Not to mention the best writing in a game. More writing doesn't mean better writing . Looking at you MGS 4.
