i don't get ALL the hype either and I relaly don't think most people are expecting something groundbreaking, but I'm still excited. i haven't really liked any RPG's lately besides Skyrim and after playing the demo I just know I want to play it. i wasn't expecting much in the monster/world department but I guess after this article there's a little more to look forward to i think the game is getting railed more than praised because it came out of nowhere and no one reallly knows if it's going to be spectacular(the demo is not enough) and people are still stuck on Skyrim's nuts and even the most vague comparison makes the rabid fans butthurt. Maybe this is what people wanted when they got excited over the Fable games, they ended up a complete mess IMO
for people wondering if it's hard game coming from someone who generally sucks at games, i think the 1 Augmented Reality training objective is a 9 or a 10 on the scale as opposed to pretty much every other thing in the game being a 5 in terms of difficulty. but it's not even necessary, it's for an acheivement, though it may be required for 100% game.
not all PC players demand the best graphics. alot of them play on outdated systems and hate the fact that other PC players are stupid enough to help the industry turn it into a standard that you need ridiculous SLI setups etc. to play pretty mediocre games. whatever happened to being able to customize games to all setups, it's dying
CoD games are an on-rails typical shooter that never innovate anything. there's no freedom in the game which those others you mentioned have(well except for NFS and Madden of course). and the plots could be autogenerated by a modified toaster. I may be over exaggerating, but not by much really
