If Nintendo announces a new character franchise, I hope it's Mach Rider from the NES era. A new Xbox would be sweet, and I hope the new Nintendo 'Cafe' (wtf?) isn't a GameCube with an Ipad for a controller.
Games have come to the point where they're more like feature films than games. It's like you play just to see the next cut-scene instead of playing just to have fun. Of course, not all games have a story and yet they are memorable nonetheless.
When I was younger, I made up my own Nintendo game system... I strangely dubbed it the 'Diamond Tree'. Yeah, I can't believe I called it that either. Didn't know what I was thinking... :P
I've always enjoyed single player games, but the social world has been influencing the gaming world for quite some time now, and I think it may get even bigger down the road. Technology can be crazy.
3DS all the way when it comes to gaming. iPhone is a phone. You talk to people. 3DS is a game system. You play games on it; real games with game cases and manuals and cartridges. Why yak on the phone when you can be playing video games?
I don't think GameCube titles are ready for the portable world just yet. Not saying it can't happen - it's just that they aren't old enough like the N64 games. And besides, people can play their GC games on the Wii.
