The way you describe on how to install java mods is not correct. The reason is because when you put the java file in the mod folder, it will function as a basic mod until another one in another area of the ".minecraft" folder is beeing used. This is what I mean:
1. Cut or copy the jar file but don't yet paste it. 2. Navigate to the versions folder and create a new folder. Paste the jar file in the folder you created 4. Copy the jar file to the folder again however this time with a brand new name. Open the jar file using notepad, copy all the text and close the file 6. The copied file should be deleted 7. Create a new file (mostly the type text file) and name it exactly the same as the Jar file 8. Once written exactly as Minecraft-servers.Biz save the file with the same name as an .json file 9. Open the json file using Notpad and copy the next 10. Launch the launcher and choose the mod you "made
10,5. If this doesn't work, do these steps 11. Open the versions folder and select a folder you don't need (if the mod uses 1.7.10, you need to locate a folder that runs the 1.7.10 Minecraft version 12. Paste the jar file in the folder you chose and rename it exactly as the json file's name is 13. Start the launcher and select the version
If you are unable to locate the folder, go back to the versions folder, check the folder after the last edit and change the name to whatever you'd like. I suggest renaming the files within the folder exactly the same way as the folder's name is.
