I think there's been some jumping to conclusions regarding the "no access" to user-generated cmapaigns for the non-Steam version. What HBS actually said in the update is players will be unable to browse and access the player generated missions "in game" like they will be able to in Steam workshop. However, this doesn't necessarily mean there won't be an alternative means of playing the user made content (i.e., via a Nexus site). Moreover, they have said they won't be taking any steps to prevent players from modding the game as they like. This will hopefully be cleared up on Friday when they plan to post another update / FAQ
@SamuraiSeven It could conceivably come to Ouya as it's going to be ported to Android tablets. Or possibly even XLA. However, as others have said, you should be able to play this on basically any PC made in the last 10 years.
@xsonicchaos No, it's not day one DLC. The Berlin expansion is planned to be released sometime after the base game. Btw, all Kickstarter backers and anyone who pre-ordered the "Collector's Edition" get the Berlin campaign at no additional charge.
@GunBladeHero Surely you must have either a PC or Mac or iOS / Android phone. This game isn't graphically intensive and will easily run on any computer made in the past 10 years. A console port for a game like this simply isn't necessary because no one has the "I can't afford a high end gaming rig" excuse.
Yes, but unlike a lot of the big game developers, HBS plans on making substantial (free) updates and improvements after the initial release. For instance, there's an entire second city setting (Berlin) planned that won't be available at launch but will be free to all KS backers and those who pre-order. The more successful this game is, the more they plan to improve it. You have to realize their budget is tiny compared to other studios.
Hmm, I've never heard anyone who has played it complain that the battles in this game were too easy (other than the first couple which are basically tutorials)... So either the reviewer is exceptionally good at this type of game or she didn't play it all the way to the end. I think this game easily deserves at least an 8, but of course scores of 8 or above are reserved for Square-Enix games on Gamespot.
