As long as it as the developers originally intended it, I have no problems with it. Only when it comes to poor localizations do I begin to have problems. :P
This is the most absurd comment i have ever read. What are you trying to imply here? that some games have poor localization? Don't you realize how hard the job is? To take the character and transform yourself into them simply through spoken word is quite a challenge. Besides all that, it's not just a poisonous snake, its a MONSTER!
Effort does not equal quality though, no matter how much you want it to. I actually love most of the other stuff FFX's VAs lent their voices to (Futurama, The Animatrix, the Studio Ghibli Disney dubs), but FFX seemed to somehow be capable of turning solid voice actors into something of lower standard, as if they only got one take and had no direction.Anyway, even if a game lacks voice acting there are ways of making text appear to be 'alive'. The Zelda games do this well enough with a text engine that pauses at appropriate places in character's speach.
Well then what do you think Zelda would be with voice acting? but leave Link the same
Zelda got no voice acting because it´s 1st expensive and 2nd the GC-Disc isn´t big egnough so it whould have required 3 Discs which is hard in a game you can move freely. It whould be possible, but since the sound is pretty low quality already I think you get what kind of problems the game already had.
The Wii is more than capable in holding sound, for the GC version I agree, and despite the technological requirements, I only asked if the game would be better with voice acting or not, in my opinion I see the game would be much better with voice acting except for some character

[QUOTE="dark_massenger"]I have played Metal Gear Solid and I know it has one of the best voice acting, I'm just saying that FFX has a good voice acting, maybe with some characters its not, but overall it has a GOOD and not BAD voice acting, there is a difference between good and bad voice actingfoxhound_fox
Well, the voice acting in FFX is not "bad" per se but it definitely is not kind on the ears. Some voice actors in many localized games and anime sound like they've never acted a day in their lives and were picked up on the street outside the sound studio. The actors in FFX were not big name and many of them not nearly as talented as some of those in say Metal Gear Solid or Castle In the Sky (Hayao Miyazaki film). At times I found it quite grating and took away from the experience. It "removed" me from the game world.

[QUOTE="dark_massenger"]I agree with you but in the point that FFX has a bad voice acting, I don't think I can agree, it was the first FF with voice acting and they were great, excpet for Kimari I didn't like his voice acting much lol, but for the others its much better than some other RPGs I playedfoxhound_fox
If you thought FFX good had good English voice acting, I IMPLORE you to play some games (like Metal Gear Solid) that actually have GOOD English voice acting. Picking the wrong actor for the part only ruins the character. This become very true among localization of Anime.

Its got to be good voice acting. No voice acting is better then bad voice acting. If the voice acting is crap I'll play the game on mute, like FF X or Blue Dragon,nrt25

[QUOTE="gamingqueen"][QUOTE="dark_massenger"][QUOTE="gamingqueen"][QUOTE="SemiMaster"][QUOTE="gamingqueen"]Voice acting makes games come to life... but they take away the depth of story as more can be told through text. Also, you insure that everyone will have the same experince with a game with text sintead of VA.OneWingedAngeI
Lemme pose this question to you then.
How would Metal Gear turn out with text instead of voices?
Like Final Fantasy, Metal Gear started sans voice overs. Would you ever go back?
Ok you got me there :P  but in final fantasy characters became more shallow with VA!
hmmm, I don't think I agree with you there voice acting in Final Fantasy gives the characters a personality, the way they talk, and each has his own accent , I don't think its easy to imagine all that without voice acting, like you said voice acting brings a game to life, as well as characters
You think so? Look at vaan
thing is its not voice acting in general that causes that, but not matching the right voice actor to the part. thats the one thing that is much much more difficult as opposed to using text. text is able to be perceived in various ways, but a mismatched or bad voice actor can spoil a role.
I totally agree with that :P

hmmm well I don't really feel like vaan is a main character lol, I don't like him to be honest, they should have brought a better character
