@BigFeef Big, the point I was attempting to get across is that there are depictions of Kali, both as Kali and Mahakali (her existence closer to that of Brahman). The dev's chose to take Kali as an aspect of the seven tongue's of Agni, so while she does exist in some texts as Brahman the depiction is that of a deity and not an all powerful god.

True people are bound to get offended with thing like this, but the point I was attempting to get across is it is more likely that they chose to create gods that had depictions prestated in texts and culture rather than letting character design arts attempt to create depictions of deities that have no base for depictions(IE: Yaweh, Hyperion, Satan, Coeus, Jesus). It's the equivalent of trying to guess the color of scales on a dinosaur when all you have are the bones, we don't know what these beings look like because there are no depictions in religious text.

Greek, Egyptian, Hindu, Buddhist, Jainism, Wicca, Norse, Chinese, Native American, etc. we have detailed descriptions and depictions of what these gods should look like.

@BigFeef Big, how do you make a non OP hero out of a supposedly All powerful and all knowing being that exists everywhere, and who's true appearance can't be seen by mortal eyes? Will to bet that Hi-Rez chose not to go the Abrahamic way because there are no depictions of the deities in this faith...And before you go and say well Jesus is depicted everywhere, that's an interpretation of what someone thinks Jesus looks like that didn't exist in the holy texts, unlike most of the gods in Smite.

@DanielOcean11 Well alright, lemme pull up the statistics: "God"/"Yaweh" Kills: 2,038,334 people in the Bible.

Satan kills: 10 people.

Problem is with both of those there really isn't any depiction of them in their texts or in the religion. Sure there are hints to that: "No man can see the true face of "god", and so on and so forth, but there aren't images or picture of these beings to go off of.

What do you think is worse, not including a deity because there isn't an image to design the character off of, or designing a deity off of an artist's interpretation (IE: Hrm, pretty sure "god" is black/asian/white/hispanic/etc.) and then pissing off everyone?

@Zloth2 @Poodger Agreed, but I don't know maybe Buddha could be a support hero or something, but yeah certain deities and mythological figures don't fit the bill of a MOBA style game.

@Zalborn right now, Greek god's are a bit OP....then again most greek god's came from raping each other, so it makes sense that they do so in game.

@Poodger Well Poodger, Abrahamic deities aren't really wrathful beings, and those that are ("Yaweh" and Satan) don't really have representations of them shown in their texts. So for a developer to go: "Hrm, I think the Abrahamic God/Satan looks a bit like.....this.", is just asking for trouble. Love to see it, but I doubt it'll happen, dev's just picking their battles, and making sure not to piss off investors/clients.

Connor, my main question is "Have you heard from the dev's if there will be a flying spaghetti monster god?"

And yeah I slightly understand why staying away from Abrahamic deities due to well, not being superhuman etc., but if one does that they need to explain it to the player base in a Memo or something as to not put off potential players because of "exclusion of potentially controversial entities".
