@Barighm: Yea, it's fantastic. Game Pass has totally changed the way that I purchase and consume games. To note, though: Xbox has also done a fantastic job lately with promoting their third party partners. These sometimes come to Play Anywhere and/or Game Pass, but not always. I think they've made some smart bets with featuring some cool games (many of which are great games that aren't huge blockbusters and could use the exposure).

(Even bigger than that.. the "next big thing" could very well be streaming. What if you could get all of that.. on your phone? Or on a specialized $150 box that delivers (lower end) gaming PC quality with low latency? WHO KNOWS?!)

Ok... so people who are always happy when PS4 get timed exclusives also somehow think it's an abomination when Microsoft supports a game? Like it's the worst thing evar when Tomb Raider did it, but not.. Nier, Witness, NMS, Firewatch, Abzu, etc. etc. etc. The reality is Microsoft showed off more new and coming 3rd party AND 1st party exclusives at E3 2018 than Sony. Sony didn't even give you dates. NOT EVEN YEARS for most of their titles.

Heck, what's wrong with featuring "3rd party" on stage? It was SOO good when Sony did it in 14-16, but not when MS does it better in 18? Weird. Anyway.. Sony doesn't maintain their dominance without good 3rd party relationships. And if they're really stepping away from the show where they typically show most of them off... well... I certainly hope MS gives them the time they deserve. Paris isn't the same stage. PSX is focused on internal. TGS is Japanese. So.. Sony, who survived off promoting fantastic 3rd party games while rebuilding their 1st parties early this gen, is going to abandon their partners?

Eh. Might not matter given their lead and their studios spinning, but it does seem a bit arrogant is all. It's ok if you want to give Sony a pass. I think their dev teams have earned a break, if not some faith. But, I don't get what you get by trying to bash other platforms for doing exactly you did. You know?

@videogameninja: Now now, THQ Nordic could show up big! You don't even KNOW what they have. (They also probably don't actually know what they have)

@Pyrosa: Leave and NEVER RETURN! Overcooked was fantastic right through the end. It's really less of a puzzle game as it is a coop game with puzzle elements. If your friends are into it, it is fantastic fun (though some of the later levels did get a bit more tedious or finicky).

@gatsbythepig: I hear this a lot, but I don't see you walking around fast food joints screaming at patrons "IT'S NOT FREE IF YOU ALREADY BOUGHT ONE!!!" lol. It's all in your perspective. I think I'm much happier thinking of them as free add-ons to my online subscription. (Not to say I wouldn't mind not paying for my online subscription in the first place, but I don't mind either).

@lostn:It's less about the threat of losing a studio per se (and yes, there is a danger of that - say.. Remedy?) (and heck, not like buying a studio prevents them from leaving the fold - Bungie, that other one..) and really more about bringing the team under the same roof. It's about giving a very successful team a seat at the table and an inside look at what the entire company is doing and the overall strategy. If you're just looking at it from a per-game viewpoint, sure, nothing changes. If you're looking at this as Microsoft Studio games are looking for inventive new ways to make online play novel and fun, then you see why having Playground at the discussion table is very valuable.

There are lots of things Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2 could have learned from Horizon 4, despite all being very different games. We have no idea what Halo Infinite will look like, but I think it's fair to say they won't just stick with a straight shooter campaign with a couple multiplayer modes. Whether or not that succeeds depends a lot on if they make the right bets with the right follow through on how to integrate the new stuff with the still-beloved core. I'm not saying that Playground should become consultants, but I do think having them in the fold changes their position and influence across the organization. That's important for Playground, that's important for Xbox, that's important for gamers.

Not a waste of money.

(Also.. why are there only like 5 reviews in this roundup XD. And you guys didn't even bother putting GiantBomb on here loll)

I say wait for a while and you'll probably get Wolf 2 as well. The AAA selection on Game Pass has honestly exceeded expectations. I do wonder if PS Now will do better now that people can download games to the hard drive. More interest in the service probably means better adoption probably means better support from publishers. Probably. Maybe. Anyway, I haven't played either, so I will maybe check it out.

Personally, I'm just super hyped about Half Genie Hero. I only played Pirate's Curse because it was on gamepass and I thought it was fantastic. Thought about buying the sequel for a while, so I'm very excited to be able to play this one now too. And probably give FH4 a spin. And maybe download and ignore Metro.

@93ChevyNut: Remember that Sony hasn't figured out PS4/PS3 backwards compatibility yet. And probably never will. Which does leave a pretty big hole in their service. I just looked at the full PS2 and PS4 library and I'm not THAT impressed. There are a few PS2 games, but just a couple I'd be excited for. The PS4 library is fairly close in number to Game Pass, but has a distinct lack of AAA games (or, heck, games that I even recognize). This is a great step in the right direction, definitely, but I think PS Now still has the fundamental issue of games that I want to play (which is strange, considering the PS4 library is killer, in general.)

@Barighm: No. He has a point. It's something I wish Xbox would do with Game Pass too. Bundle it into one, or even deprecate the online service requirement for multiplayer. But, I get that right now, they're trying to find their financial footing with these new ideas, so whatever nbd. Interested to see what the library eventually shakes out to be. PS2 library is still pretty small, isn't it? But, depending on what PS4 games they manage to get on the service, this could be a pretty great way to play games. With our streaming future, maybe we can play all the big exclusives without buying dedicated hardware at all :o. (Don't foresee them doing the awesome launching games, including big exclusives, into the service like Xbox is doing, but oh well. The future is fluid, platforms have to make money somehow)
