Kratos is smart and realises the mistake he made long ago while being confronted by the barbarian horde. He submitted himself to slavery. After a while, becoming accustomed to his shackles, betrayal was out of the question. In short, him killing his family was the only way he would have realized that he was better off without Ares. He, of course, knew this and thought it for the best to leave his family dead. Besides when was the last time you saw Kratos sleep? The beginning of the first game...he must be TIRED!

He may have been in a bed, but I highly doubt that he was sleeping. (if you know what I mean)

1. The graphics are better than you're average PS2 game.

2. Costumes yes, Urns/Arena, no.

Also, you really don't NEED to play God of War to understand God of War II, but it doesn't hurt, either.

I disagree. If you don't play the first one then you loose a lot of the experience.

I meant that you didn't need to play it in order for the STORY to make any sense. I didn't recomend not getting it, though.

Nope, it just had to be an image from GOW, GOW II, or CoO. That includes screen captures and concept art.
