actually, I got the game running well on a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 quad-core and a Nvidia Geforce 8600 GTS 256 mb. For around 400 bucks and the game runs fine on High settings

Entertaining, but I do think you missing out by showing a bit from the MSX Metal Gear games and Portable Ops. Especially the origin of Grey Fox.

interisting, it does make different particle effects, but it's hard to notice since the monster models a terrain all seem really beautiful quality it's hard to notice the little detail with the particles.

I'm betting you that Beta is a bit temporary. A stress test to see how well it runs on servers. There are going to be some considerate improvements on the final build. So for now, it's quite mediocer game, it feels like Far Cry and those guys are far beyond far cry itself.

one word, "Games." Originally in the 2005 E3 presentation there was a massive announcements of games all in prerendered videos while XBox 360 had Kameo and Perfect Dark. Now, however the reality is settling in, and we aren't seeing any games but that's true to any hardware launch, remember the Nintendo DS launch and how long it took for Mario Kart DS? Still right now, we can have a far more rewarding experence playing an RPG on the Nintendo DS then on a PS3, what Sony needs to do is really keep showing us next generation games. We can do without a pre-rendered video and lots of bullet points on the back of the box, but there has to be something signifciantly different then everything else out there. Little Big Planet is that game that even made my girlfriend say "Wow, I've never seen anything like that, and we can make our own levels?" You ask anyone and they are wondering "What's the Ico team making? what's the Katamari Damacy Team making? Anything New with guitar Hero?" Sony spent billions developing this unit, you mean to tell me they can't get an interview with the team behind Naughty Dog on their next game on a popular gaming publication? I'm not asking to be spoiled to the point where I just don't care, but I need see what I can't expence in this racing game that I already expernce right now on a PS2 Burnout Dominator for 40 bucks. A next generation open world sandbox game that's different then the charming PS2 Bully. A compelling new feature in a next generation Rythem, Music game that I can just outshine Guitar Hero. A next generation Japanese RPG that is better then Final Fantasy XII. Spinning Corperate Buzz words like "The Zen of video games," and "Immersive worlds" anyone can do that. What we need to see, read and hear is really something significantly different. Right now we got a lot of good names to games in the future, but we have no information on them. Will FFXIII be nothing but long cinematics? Does MGS4 have Online gameplay? Is there a single image for GTAVI?

wow, it's hard to really sit down and think about what will be the most anticipated games. I'd say maybe Lunar Knights, being the sequel to Boktai I'm anxious to see that franchise benifit from the removal of the solor sensor which made seem gimmicky but it was originally well implemented gameplay element. On top of that it was handled by Kojima productions which made 3 amazing Boktai games which rivaled Nintendo's Zelda series but added more longevity to the gameplay then just "Oh I'm going to collect more heart containers." Plus it's a redesign of the gameplay compared to the slow paced dungeon crawl/stealth/rpg/puzzel gameplay which is really drastic but I feel this will be the dramatic redesign that will help it gain a new audience at an amazing franchise. Dragon Quest 9, I'm shocked to find out how late into development this game is and it looks gorgious on the Nintendo DS. The previous games were critical successes but since the gameplay of all 8 games felt as conservative as an NES game, I feel it would be better on a hand held then a PS3. Dragon Quest Sword, it's been highly kept secret about this game but what has leaked it's looking more and more the best RPG on the Nintendo Wii. The Graphics look fun bright and coloriful, and like I was saying before about how conservative the series is this game feel a lot like the original NES game but it's using the WII the best way possible into an action RPG. Virtua Fighter 5 and Tekken 6, the first few screenshots of Tekken 6 look terrible and it's a big shock at how badly it's looking on the PS3. Virtua Fighter is just months away and it looks glorious unlike ANY Next Generation game ever. No sloppy bump mapping, no questionable physics, no bad ground textures, instead it's pinnical of art in video games. I always felt Tekken series was a beautiful art style in PS1 and PS2, i can only imagine Tekken 6 might look better as time comes by. As Techincal as Virtua Fighter series is, I'd love to see Tekken pick it up and help be more accessable. This is definatly a big time to be a fighting game fan right now. Metal Gear Solid 4, aside from OBVIOUS reasons to be excited, but I'm curious..... Will Hideo Kojima again mess with out minds like he did with MGS2. We all talk about next generation graphics, at how real it is, how real the hair on snake is, how real the fabrics are, how kojima studied real cities in the middle east for the game, how they removed the question marks on their foreheads..... what if this is all hype and then the game is DRASTICLY DIFFERENT? What if the game goes back into MSX console graphics and it ends with the fight between Solid Snake vs Grey Fox and Big Boss. I Don't know what to expect, and that's exciting since Halo you know it's gonna play like halo, Burnout will play like Burnout, Final Fantasy will play like fantasy, and Tony Hawk will play like Tony Hawk.... but metal gear is something you don't know what to expect. Aside from that, I'm eager to NOW buy a next generation video game systems. Early adopting a system like the 360 just looked desperate to play anything just for the simple points instead of actually apprecating a new gameplay experences. First few months on the 360 couldn't compare to Half-Life 2, Star Wars KoToR, Burnout, Katamari Damacy, Bully, Okami, Tekken 5, or even a decent RPG, platformers or puzzel games you can find on the gameboy. Although this year will be the year I can see a legitmate reason to buy a PS3, 360 and a Nintendo Wii since it's STILL impossible to find.

HAHAHA, *shakes my fist at jeff gertsmen* achivement points can't possibly compare to "Option" in Gradius series or the multiple ninjas in Ninja Giaden 2. Espedially the later gradius series that let you play around with their patterns and how they spread out. Considering since Gradius was a one hit and dead, the options came in to take a hit for you since treasure is obsessed with a million bullets on screen. 2. Hotsuma's cursed demon blade Akujiki, while the sword was the main weapon, it was used to collect red glowing yang from your oppents. Many games used the soul collecting before, but in Shinobi it became a sense of puzzel solving and viceral carnage when used in the game. The more Souls you got the more poweriful Akujiki became and the MORE you yerned to find more. 3. Star in any Super Mario game. This was the moment when any Mario game just became all hesterical action, and frantic gameplay. Players rarely remember how long the stars last, but they all milked it for all it's worth. As simple as the mario games are, and family friendly, once you got one of those stars the game just KICKED IT into overdrive. 4. Gift Parks in Sim City. A small reward for any player who could balance the nature and pollution with a demanding city design. They all looked beutiful between a set of 8 industrial buildings spewing out black smoke. 5. the SUN, the Boktai series. Now this is the reason why Boktai isn't widely played. It's difficult to find a sunny spot within the world where it's comfortable to play the game. It was an essential part in solving puzzels, beating bosses, and you can't have too much of it, or it broke your blades in part 2. It's a natrual resource but we all take it for granted but Kojima and crew made it into a unique gameplay mechanic that worked remarkably well.
