I just had a whole ton of flashbacks to visiting gamespot back in 99. Having to make an active choice to head out to the local library to use the computers there for the free two hour limit in order to keep up with everything. took a long time before I actually created an account for use on the site (first of two). I remember all of those late nights staying up to watch the on the spot when I finally did get the chance at home. I vividly remember the episode after Jeff left opening (ending?) with a shot of the bulk of the team all together showing solidarity and talking about what had happened. That really stuck with me at the time. It's why I still respect the site and all those who get the chance to work for her.

I would have loved to have been more involved with the community too. Feels like a waste of all that time, but Ive always been socially awkward and have good intentions but tend to not be very well liked in online forums and the like. Or that's just a paranoia i had that kept me from being directly involved. I always wanted to get into writing and talking about games enough to be able to write for the site too eventually. Time drifted/drifts by though and my terrible education always felt like a dead weight holding me back from that possibility. I'm a way more capable writer now than I was back then, but it feels super late. Also I fear I come off as a weirdo and that it shoots me in my own foot somewhat. Maybe one day I'll pull myself together and get a chance to. A 'going the long way round' of sorts.

It's also been great to see so many talented men and women come though the doors over the years and come out the other side able to do even greater things. Everyone who worked for the site always seemed super nice and deserving.

@firedrakes : that's because you CAN use them on 3.0. I mean they are all restricted to the playsets to which they are assigned. or some just to toybox/toybox playsets. but all the past figured very much do work. All mine do anyway.

I hope the dev team all land on their feet. Luckly they 1. partnered with several other devs on many of those adventure add ons. so theres a bundle of good working relationships there hopefully. (team ninja, united front... etc) and 2. they still get to see the last two big bits of content go out the door. so hopefully they get to finish up some work on those too. maybe thatll give them a little time to adjust (or some of the team anyway) also there was that peter pan figure that was supposed to come out. I suspect that will probably also still see the light of day. last in the line likely.

In a personal point. I'm hella collecting these already, so now I know my finite number of things to nab. Before it seemed impossible as a task. now. maybe i can do it.

also May i suggest those who have not, maybe download the free editions of the game/s from the official websites now while you can. just in case.

"Captain America utters the line "I can do this all day", which is a call back to one of the best scenes from his first solo movie, The First Avenger. In that film, puny pre-super serum Steve Rogers utters the same line to a group of bullies giving him a beatdown in an alley." - It was just one guy. but close.
