I'm playing back through the Mass Effect series to celebrate all 3 games available on Backwards Compatibility on the Bone. Right now playing through ME2.
Also just got done playing through A Link to the Past. Talk about classic !!
I care...it was a stupid move on Sony's part. I mean honestly how much more could a 4k drive have cost than a standard BRD? $10-$15 at the most when you buy in bulk like Sony does? Probably less than that.
Saying that many people don't have 4k TVs is a stupid argument. What is the point of the Pro then? Why spend $100 extra just for a slightly faster 1080p? No Sony is pushing 4k with the Pro, and to not give the consumer the option of playing 4k BRD is stupid.
I would definitely like one, but not for $60. I can already all of the games on my actual NES. One day I will probably get it for the collection, but I'm in no rush, I can wait until interest has died down, and the price drops. Now had they made it able to add more games, or play mini cartridges then I would have probably been there day one.
I really liked the system, but man did I have some bad luck with the quality of the hardware. I ended up with basically 5 different PS3s over the years (1phat, 2 Slims, and 2 Super Slims). Three of which were replacements for broken systems. So far so good on number 5 though. Gamewise, there were some really good exclusives on the system. But to be honest the only ones I go back and replay are the Ratchet and Clank games, Infamous 1 and 2, GoW 3, and the Uncharted games. Most of the others were one and done. Still 10 years and still selling is impressive. Congrats Sony, and the PS3.
I'd stick with getting one of the 360S consoles if you can. They are way more reliable, and they have built in networking. If you live in the U.S. Walmart has a Forza 2 500GB bundle coming up on Black Friday for $130.
Yeah I learned how bad Sony's security is the hard way. My account was hacked a few months back. Or actually it was taken over. Luckily I don't keep a credit card on file with them after the big hack a few years back. Still someone was able to take over my account, and clean out the funds that were sitting in my wallet. Sony was great about getting the account back, and they did refill the wallet funds after a few days, but they did act like they were doing me a giant favor by doing this "one time adjustment". It's not really a favor when your security process fails and someone is able to take over my account.
My PSN password is unique, and not stored anywhere, so it wasn't a case of someone guessing it, or hacking some other site and just using the same credentials to log in. Because no other site uses the same password. I work in IT and I keep my passwords sort of complex, and pretty much unique to every site. So obviously they called up Sony and got them to reset the password without really verifying who was calling. This was before the two step process was in place, so maybe that will improve their security some. Still as long as they allow someone to call up a CSA and just change the info over the phone, without properly verifying that the person is who they say they are. There will be problems with their security. .
