I never really got into the main quest in the Elder Scrolls game in the first place. I just love roaming around in the open world, discovering things, evolving my character and improving their life. I wish that the game would track what I do while I am just messing around and have my actions affect the main quest when I finally get around to it. In Skyrim, the majority of my time was spent crafting, being a merchant, taking on side quests, and exploring.
Also, the mods. I love the game mainly for tailoring it to my liking with mods. Every time Bethesda makes an Elder Scrolls game, they should incorporate the best game changing mods from the past series.
No buy, unless the PC version fixes all that I don't like about this game (some of which this review does not even mention or glosses over). I was all set to run out to get it. Bargain bin buy at the very least. I can wait.
It feels like I have been waiting forever for this. However, I think I will rebuy The Longest Journey and Dreamfall from Steam, since I no longer have the game discs, and then play Dreamfall: Chapters. It's been so long, it should be worth a play again. Maybe the 2nd episode will be out by the time I am done with those.
Not impressed, other than Elite Dangerous. And where is Star Citizen? Did they skip E3? The Sims is focusing on players with under-performing PCs and laptops, so they have compromised on how advanced the series can be, so I am not impressed there either.
I took a long break from Skyrim as I concentrated on other games. I came back and finished it. And then I began modding the heck out it and am enjoying it even more now. I never did go for any of the DLC, so I might get that much later after I am done with my modded play-through. I will of course Mod once again if I get the DLC.
As for a game I simply did not finish out of boredom: Final Fantasy XIII.
