The purpose of this topic is to have something thats the opposite of all the "top 10 biggest flops" to bring out the positive things from 2008.

This is NOT a list of the best games of the year, just games that went over and beyond their expectations.

My list:

5. NHL 09

4. LittleBigPlanet

3. World of Goo

2. Braid

1. Dead Space

I thought that the general consensus on dead space was that it was underrated... which is the complete opposite of disappointing.

PoP shouldn't be there either, and Mirror's Edge was a new IP, It did not have the weight of a sequel on it's shoulders. They should be replaced with Haze and maybe GH:WT.

I used to be absolutely addicted to SSX and have been patiently waiting for a next gen sequel.

So they score Madagascar 2 a 7.5, but when Mirror's Edge is an 8.0-8.5, they score that a 7.0.

I don't even go with GS scores anymore. They base them off personal opinion.

TPOJ-TPO

How dare they :P

Grand Theft Auto is casually appealing, although not in your face casual, just appeals to both sides.

Part of the reason is that the launch was messed up. If it had been on time, I would have had it on the 21st, but my favourite retailer still doesnt have it in stock as of now, so I'm without a copy. Plus: the fact that its a new ip and a 2d platformer with kiddy(although charming and awesome to me) atmosphere. It's like a developer doesn't like money when they do that.
