@JangoWuzHere: Who cares? No one (in our camp) demands sides. We just want to be to free to express our opinions. And Gamespot allows for that.

Gamespot is swiftly becoming one of my favourite gaming news sites, along with The Escapist. Allowing Gamergate, and facilitating a civil conversation rather than *policing* one, is admirable. But I'm also liking some writers here, too. They're chill and not ideological crusaders.
For example, that article on Male Intimacy in FFXV. It was measured, made some great points, and was a really interesting read. But it so, so easily could have went the Kotaku way and started screeching about the lack of female characters. So I like that, and I really quite like Gamespot.

After getting bored with my large PS2 and thinking I would no longer have a use for it, I decided I wanted to see what the inside of it looked like, so I opened it up and broke it. (Stupid, yeah)
After, like, 3 months I realised I wasn't quite over my gaming stage and decided this was the perfect time to buy a new PS2, complete with a mod chip- as I want Suikoden III, Front Mission IV, and Narutimett hero 2. (All are only available through import)
When I got to the shop, they informed me they sell Large PS2s chipped, AS WELL as Slimline PS2s. I opted for the latter option (silver, as well)- so far it's been no problem and looks incredible.
The hard drive thing people are talking about, whether it's true or not I don't know (but I'll take your word for it), doesn't really bother me as I don't ever see myself buying one regardless of it's price. The fan thing, through research, seems to appear UNTRUE.
All in all- It looks incredible, is portable, saves much space, and is mobile; I can now take it to my friend's (in my jacket pocket if I really wanted) and play my backed up games or imported ones. Seems to definitely be worth it.

Ps- People seem to be questioning it's performance, well mines being new I can't give an answer in hindsight. However my old Playstation 2, as well as my friend's, had great trouble reading my copy of Metal Gear Solid 3 whereas my new Slimline has no problems.
I have one question- is the loading time really that different?
