@AggrandizedUser @chrisbeaumont but that's not what we're complaining about. We're complaining that people say terrible things about who Carolyn is as a person, not that they say terrible things about her opinion of GTA V.

We don't mind people telling us our opinions are wrong or stupid, we mind horrific insults of an extremely personal nature that are completely unjustified. They're different things entirely - mixing up the issues like you're doing is dangerously close to what one might call trolling.
@AggrandizedUser If I said the earth is flat or the sun is made of a million fireflies you wouldn't need a rational argument to tell me I was being stupid, you could just tell me I was being stupid and move on, because I was obviously being stupid.
@AggrandizedUser don't you think you're choosing to ignore the fact that there is lots of rational dialogue in this video? You can have a rational dialogue and conclude that someone is saying stupid things. Saying we want a rational dialogue isn't saying we'll never point out stupidity when we see it.
@MeestaPleasta it got a 9 out of 10, and the misogyny wasn't the only reason given on the negative side. The game has things wrong with it, in the opinion of the reviewer, and it's not at all unprofessional to state those issues and mark the game down from 10 out of 10. And besides, while it might have been triggered by what's happened with GTA V, this video *is* about more than just the GTA 5 review - it's about the general state of commenting on the internet.
@neroist it's not about having an opinion about something, it's about not being a dick. It's not about people feeling aggrieved about the GTA V review, it's about people saying personal & hateful things to our reviewers. It's important not to mix up the issues here - people having issues with the review or disagreeing with what the reviewer said - that's totally fine, that's the kind of conversation we want. But if you express that difference of opinion by calling the reviewer a monster and saying they should be fired, well you're just being a dick about it, and we've no time for you. People mix up the issues - it's simply about not wanting to have horrific insults hurled at you in a way that's completely unjustified.
@elderdrake @chrisbeaumont @northArrow if the show went away tomorrow, those comments would still be there, and they'd be just as toxic, just as hateful and problematic. It doesn't add up imo.
