Besides, you can still do things like add friends, check profiles, and a few other things without needing to pay for anything at all.

You can download stuff from the store, and keep it on your PC until you transfer it over to PSP or PS3. But I think that's the only PC specific service.

Sometimes what I try is turning it on wit hthe game in there, and if you get the flashing screen where the power light flashes, you can try to move the game left and right inside, and it will eventually hit that connector pin in just the right way to get t to work. Worth a shot if you haven't messed with it that way yet.

That's literally the problem right there. I had one of the exact same models. Mine did the same thing, and a few days later, it started to refuse to even play discs. The model itself was discontinued shortly after that, because it has a laser error. Yours just lasted incredibly long for how faulty that model happened to be.

So yes, you'll have to replace it at some point in the fututre, because it will likely stop reading discs at some point, and therefore be useless as far as games, and other disc based things.

I just checked, and I can confirm the Japanese PSN still doesn't work either right now. Just figured I'd test it to be sure. I'm sure they'll all come back relatively close to each other when they do anyway though.

All 5 of mine so far are just from playing the game to have fun, not a specific motivation to get them. I don't specifically sit there and think about trying to platinum a game. If anything, I'll only make an effort if I only have a few trophies left before I get them all.

I'm a little bummed at that news, but the only thing I'm really waiting on is just connecting my PSN with my Steam account. It's inconvenient to have to keep waiting and all, but whatever. Hopefully it won't be more than another week.

You can check profile views in the About Me section. You can't check views for reviews though.

Of course I'll remain a member. I never got anything stolen, and since that's the only legitimate reason to quit based on the current events, it doesn't change anything for me.

Actually they confirmed that all all personal info except cc numbers for now were stolen from every single one of the 77 milllion accounts.

Got a source saying so? Because I really lost track of stuff with all the rumors lately. Last I saw relevant to this was just that they confirmed PSN users were okay. Then a few days later they said people playing MMOs like EverQuest, and that DC game and such got all their personal info stolen, because SOE was a different section as far as how they handled things.
