i know there is plenty of these topics on forums, but i would like your opinion on a monitor to suit my specific needs. i am currently using a acer GD245HQ which a guy from harvey norman recomended me, i know better than to trust sales staff now. i have a 7970GFX and i get terrible screen tear, color fringing ect.. so i am after a good gaming monitor and im looking at spending hopefully about 300-400AUS dollars.
I want it to preferably be 1920x1080, im guessing for fps gaming id want 120hz and im guessing low responce time..?.. and i dont care for 3D. What are your sugestions? i have searched this on the net but i prefer the opinions of people such as yourself.
battlefield 3's multiplayer is where its at, and makes it worth the purchase if you dont want to wait for 4. but the singleplayer is horrible and i found it difficult to finish
hey. earlier i posted on this forum wanting to know if anyone had any ideas why borderlands 2 was running like a pig on my machine, dropping as low as 10 fps at parts running on a 7970. i think i have found the problem, i noticed that physx is enabled in the game. i didnt expect it to smash my computer like it has been, but it has made bl2 unplayable. i have spent alot of time searching for the answer to this but cant find an answer anywhere. Does anybody know how to disable physx??? i cant select it in the in-game menu since its darked out, yet it is definately on. and i have a amd card, so i cant find it in my catalyst like i would be able to with a nvidia card. any help would be much appreciated. thankyou.

hey. im quite new to pc gaming, i built my pc about a year ago and love it. however i have been getting really bad performance lately on games and cannot figure out why. i have spent countless hours on google searching for help but cant seem to find a solution. im running Windows 7 on a i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz with a AMD Radeon HD 7970. with max payne 3 for example, i cannot break past 30 fps everything maxed, borderlands 2 drops as low as 10fps at times.. it is extreemly agrivating. i have nothing running in the background and my drivers are up to date. on top of this, i get horrible screen tearing on games unless i turn on v-sync, which does my framerates no favors and i get color fringing, which i originally blamed on my monitor till i bought a new one and it continues to do it. this is all strange seeing as i get an average of 37.7fps and a score of 949, which is about what i would expect on the heaven 4.0 benchmark.. remember i am quite new to pc gaming, as i am making the shift from consoles. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
