The term 'rich' or 'wealthy' is highly subjective. Even from a monetary perspective, should one consider total assets as well as income, or just the former or latter?

So, someone who has a total value of assets greater than $x dollars could be considered rich, but what is x? 1 million? 2 million? 5 million? Should we also consider the liquidity of these assets? I mean, someone who has $5 million worth of property could arguably be 'less' rich than someone with $5 million in gold.
