[QUOTE="carolynmichelle"][QUOTE="bofe1234"]This is true and i can't imagine how bad it was. but imagine if halo 3 did recieve lets say 8.5 - 9.0. it would be incredible. Server crash, account scuicides, etc. aplenty.

You may be right, but if Jeff had felt that this game deserved an 8.5 or 9.0, I'm sure that's what he would have given it.
With all due respect, I don't believe that GameSpot has ever not given a game the score they felt it deserved as a result of fan pressure or for any other reason.
Well from Podcast's from IGN it seems gaming websites ruitinely overrate games. (i.e. Jade Empire) i think is liike 9.9 on IGN. lol. They even listed a series of games that if they could, they would rerate. I'm sure jeff did give it a fair score, but i garantee in the back of his mind he was worried about critisism.
I think that sometimes it's hard to tell in the moment that a game comes out how well it will stand the test of time, so down the road it may be tempting to go back and re-evaluate games, but I think that GameSpot always tries to give the game as accurate a review as possible for the time in which the game is released. And I think that Jeff may be terrified of criticism or he may not give a damn about any of it, but either way, I don't believe for a second that he (or anyone else at GameSpot for that matter) lets it influence their evaluation of a game, and that's what matters.

I'm nervous to watch the video review are there any spoilers?ds360fn
No specifics, no. Detail about equipment and weapons and stuff but the story information is kept very general. He tells you what he thinks of the story without telling you specifically what happens.
[QUOTE="carolynmichelle"][QUOTE="unmach"]why do people have a problem w/ teens on xbl? I haven't played that many mp games, and was surprised to hear that come up in the review:
The Bad
- Rewinding saved films doesn't work quite like you'd expect it to
- AI-controlled Marines can't drive to save their lives (or yours)
- Inevitable flood of prepubescent online players sure to hamper your enjoyment of the online modes.

Halo 2 was notorious for having a large number of players whose behavior might be described as somewhat immature, people who just swear constantly and make racist and homophobic comments and that sort of thing can bring the experience down for people who just want to enjoy a friendly game, or at leasta game against relatively mature and respectful competitors.
That's why you have the A-hole button...or you can just turn voice off. That's a stupid deduction by Jeff if you ask me...Pretty sure he didn't "deduct" anything for it.I don't think heeven mentions it in the review itself. I think he just wants people who are considering buying the game to be aware of the reality of what sorts of people they're going to encounter in online play.
