@GunEye I don't believe it has cloud support, unfortunately. I don't know how much impact first-season choices will end up having in the second season. If you don't have a save file the game can find, it appears to randomly generate those decisions.

@RC-Sev Don't misunderstand me, it's not bad. And later episodes might totally redeem it. It could still end up being a great season.

@kamikazeespleen Games don't start at a ten and have points deducted. Games need to achieve greatness to earn great scores.

@psuedospike Ah, I see. I thought you were someone who might be capable of having a reasonable conversation. My mistake. Carry on, then.

@nigelholden @Zevvion @deBASer56 I don't understand the confusion. Some games rely on familiar mechanics in a way that keeps them exciting. Some games recycle familiar mechanics in a way that feels rote and boring. You can still have 2D, side-scrolling platformers that feel fun and exciting despite the fact that games have been doing side-scrolling running and jumping for about 30 years. I think Shaun's text clearly explains what he thinks makes this Call of Duty game exciting despite it still being a first-person shooter, and I think my review of Batman: Arkham Origins explained why the reliance on familiar freeform combat and predator rooms wasn't enough in my opinion to keep that game from falling into a rut.

@psuedospike If you read Shaun's review, you'll see all the ways in which he feels that this game does refine the existing Call of Duty experience to keep things fresh and exciting. You don't have to agree with him that it succeeds, but he's not arguing that a straight rehash is "perfectly Ok with Gamespot." He feels that this game is more than that, and argues that quite clearly in the text of the review. It certainly sounds much more inspired and exciting than Batman: Arkham Origins, if that's the comparison you're making, and I think that if you read the text of the two reviews, you'll understand why they got the scores they did.

@mjorh That's your opinion and you're welcome to it. It's not one I share. Donkey Kong Country Returns, to pull a random example out of my head here at almost 1:00 in the morning, wasn't a particularly innovative platformer but it was so well-constructed that it made those familiar old mechanics feel fresh and joyful again. Batman: Arkham Origins, in my opinion, fails to find ways to make its mechanics feel fresh and exciting again.
