@Hurvl @carolynmichelle @jeager_titan I'm not quite sure what you mean. It was a novel concept for a game, a game that I wanted to see made, so I backed it. I felt it was important to be transparent with readers about that fact.
@tpix83 The voice you're hearing is actually that of Teddy, your teddy bear companion. When you do hear your character's voice, he definitely sounds like a young child.
@milsvaard @carolynmichelle @youre_a_sheep You can't directly compare a literary game about America that simultaneously works within and challenges the conventions of the point-and-click adventure with a sci-fi role-playing game. My point was just that we don't reserve 9s and 10s for AAA games, at all.
@youre_a_sheep That's why I gave the third act of Kentucky Route Zero a 9. http://www.gamespot.com/reviews/kentucky-route-zero-act-iii-review/1900-6415756/
@smokeless_0225 @carolynmichelle Do you really expect a movie critic to explain why every film is not Citizen Kane? Or a book critic to explain why a really, really great book is not going on the shortlist of the all-time classics of literature?
@smokeless_0225 @carolynmichelle For a game to be a 10, it has to be, in my opinion, worthy of discussion as potentially one of the greatest games of all time. Transistor isn't quite in that league. That's not to take anything away from it at all. I think it's a really great game. But again, games don't start at a 10 and only have points deducted for flaws. Transistor earns an 8 by being a great game.
@ptflea1 Games don't start at a 10 and only have points deducted for flaws. They earn their scores. Transistor is a really great game, and got a great score.
