Nobody would buy it on PS3. We are almost done with the current gen so why make a game for last gen?

The Switch might be underpowered, but at least it's not a dead system like PS3. Why would anyone waste the effort and money to make a PS3 port (for the shitty Cell processor)?

retired is more the better description of PS3.

and earned NRS more sales, as I would have bought it since I don't have a PS4.

the PS3 port would have been graphically equivalent to the Nintendo Switch version.

Its almost like the game favors Nvidia cards. I wonder why?:|

Geometry-tesslation-raster combo.

https://wccftech.com/nvidia-gameworks-back-worst-possible-way-final-fantasy-xv-gpu-performance-benchmarks/

The three presets are “Lite”, “Middle” and “High”. There are six different NVIDIA GameWorks effects in Final Fantasy XV. Four of which are automatically enabled at the High preset and cannot be individually toggled on or off from inside or outside the game.

[NVIDIAGameWorksSettings]

  • NvidiaFlow=1
  • NvidiaHairWorks=1
  • NvidiaShadowLibs=0
  • NvidiaTerrainTesselation=1
  • NvidiaTurf=1
  • NvidiaVXAO=0

NvidiaHairWorks = heavy geometry

NvidiaTerrainTesselation = heavy geometry

NvidiaTurf = heavy geometry, https://developer.nvidia.com/turfeffects

Our grass technology provides a fully geometrical representation

NvidiaFlow = compute https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-flow yet another voxels compute

RX-5700 XT was smashed by triple Gameworks heavy geometry-tesslation (which needs to be rasterize) workloads

Which is why if you were going for a fair comparison, you wouldn't choose a setting like HIGH that by default has presents dedicated for hardware that is exclusive to one brand.

Standard Quality is the better benchmark.

A new console is not going to change anything if you don't have the games.

I spent a fair share amount of money between different stores

Amazon.com (Xbox One S + BF1 + Gears 4 Black Friday bundle) that I should have waited since Amazon would drop the $211 bombshell of Xbox One S + BF1 bundle on Cyber Monday.

  • when did stores began lowering their prices for Cyber Monday, that's usually when the prices slowly trickles back up.

Target.com - Got a digital deep fryer for $39
TJ Maxx.com - Got a ice maker machine for $129

Bed Bath & Beyond in-store - Got a Iced Tea maker for $38

JCPenney.com - Bought a bunch of clothes for $219, with $410 in savings.

Best Buy.com - bought WWE 2K7 for $26 , I should have got in store and not online as I'm still waiting for the game to come in

No.

Separate the awe of a new console and look at the brand. Microsoft IMO has made too many mistakes during the 360 era that damed their chances for the Xbox One.

1st and foremost. Letting Bioware slip through their fingers. Remember before Bioware was an independent developer working with Microsoft Game Studios releasing games exclusive Xbox 360. Then right before Mass Effect 2 come out they put themselves up for sell and EA out of no where scoops them up.

Imagine how more success Microsoft would gained had they acquired Bioware. The whole Mass Effect trilogy when have been a locked exclusive.

Not pushing enough family oriented game show games. Made no sense to kill off 1vs100. They stumbled on a gem with this game and didn't know how to keep it funded.

  1. What happened to the gameshow games that were previewed when they were launching Kinect? Never came out.

Microsoft wasting their time trying to go after the Japanese audience.

Ever wondered why Lost Odyssey never got a sequel, that whole Microsoft-Mistwalker joint venture was an effort to try to break-in-to the Japan market. MS had no care that Japanese style turn-based RPGs were a big hit in America. It's another gem that should have championed (considering Lost Odyssey sold over a million copies) but they didn't, in part because their brief JRPG venture that gave us Blue-Dragon, Lost Odyssey and development of on-coming JRPG games to the Xbox 360 (Cry-on) didn't help move enough 360 units in that region.

So just like Bioware, Microsoft let Mistwalker a developer they helped build move on and turn out games for other platforms (the competition). The two Blue Dragon sequels that IMO got wasted on the Nintendo DS, and The Last Story for Wii. Told you they didn't care about JRPGs.

Then what I feel Microsoft over-milked core franchises like Halo to the bone on the 360. They should have stopped with Halo Reach as the last Halo game for 360 and began building Halo 4 as the next gen Halo game. But no they kept throwing a new Halo and Forza game whenever they could.

Microsoft IMO has made mistakes that I don't think SEGA or Nintendo would have never done 25 years ago if they were in the position MS was in.

Their dumb decisions have leads us today with Xbox One and it's limited amount of great games to select from. In part because they did not build off the successes they made with 360.

They spent the last 2 years trying to reverse course after launching Xbox One with no Backward Compatibility, further proof they didn't even regard a partial selling point to the old 360 in it's replacement of the original XBOX.

But I digress.

@jcrame10:

These game installs suck. Battlefield 1 has been downloading for several hours now and it's only 41%.

I get it there are probably millions downloading this game right now since it's packed in like every Xbox One sold this past holiday but damn if this is the direction consoles are going, they really need to revamp the process.

Perhaps bring back cartridges based on flash memory technology so we can have near instant game play like Nintendo is able to do with the DS and 3DS.

With flash it would be cheaper as oppose to 20 years ago when NeoGeo was loading up cartridges with so much memory and the games were costing $200 a piece.

The console didn't "power itself off", it put itself into sleep mode basically and was still doing its download in the background, the system goes into an ultra low power state but will still do updates. Quite frankly you just have to get used to it, it's complex with a hell of a lot more and a hell of a lot more going on, it's not convoluted.

This is a case of "I'm jumping the gun right now" when you haven't even given yourself the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the platform. What you're saying right now is the equivalent of someone spending a half hour in a game and writing it off before really getting into it.

I agree with you. I am judging a little too quickly. I'll give it a chance.

Such a new system with a lot of surprises since I become so custom to the 360. I started downloading Killer Instinct and at first I was taken back that the game requires 41GB of storage but I remembered these games aren't DVDs anymore and now I see why folks were wanting the 1 & 2TB Xbox One over the 500GB.
In my mind I was thinking 500GB is more than enough, but that's 360 thinking.
