I hear ya, bro! I'm pushing 33, and love my 360. HOWEVER, the idea of getting a Wii for some more variety in gaming, has reached critical mass for me. Be nice to get off the couch and playing some Mario Strikers or Sluggers with buds or the wife-y once in awhile. Zelda, Metroid Prime Trilogy, The Conduit, Dead Space...all those games have / will have (hopefully) awesome singleplayer campaigns.

No. Metroid is a single player adventure game. If you want an online FPS buy Call of Duty or wait for the Conduit.Rocky32189
Yep. The Metroid series (except Hunters) is all about being out on your own, isolated from help. It's part of the series' charm.

You can only plug microphone-type headphones into the 360 pad. To listen to game sound effects, music, etc, you need to hook your headphones to a stereo, or to your tv.

Unlike some of my other 30-something peers who refuse to lighten-up, I like the idea of avatars. I've been staring at the same dashboard and gamerpics for almost 3 years now. I'm looking forward to the change!

I say FIFA, just cuz a new NHL is only a couple of months away. Both games are really good this year; tough choice.

Wow, not much love for Sandtrap! I put that map in my top 10, for sure.

Anyway, favorite map: Avalanche

Least favorite: Lockout (seriously)

I agree, I think Halo 3 is a good example:

One reason is because they added a bunch of new medals (wheelman, killjoy, etc.) that just didn't need to be there. I personally think gaming is getting easier in general.

I have a bad habit of choosing lengthy and/or difficult games. I've bought Oblivion, Gears, COD4, and GTAIV and I've had my Xbox for 2 years. I'm fine with casual gaming but "hardcore" games still exist out there and they won't be disappearing any time soon.

Gears CoD4 and GTA IV are all short casual games. Easy as pie, little replayability, very short. Oblivion is also mass marketed dross, soulless, shallow and boring. GTA IV is bordering on hardcore by length alone, everything else about it has equal mass market and hardcore market appeal, and it's not really all that long. Then again, maybe 24 hours length is a lot, but for the kinds of people who play things like WoW, JRPGs or older RPGs, it's really not that long at all.

I'm babbling, my point being those 4 games are great examples of casual mass market games, NOT hardcore games. Call of Duty 2 is a good example however, it was punishingly difficult, reasonable length for an FPS (partly due to its difficulty) and it's easy mode was great for the casual, everyones happy. Sure, CoD4 has Vet as well, but it's not particularly hard other than the epilogue.

As for everyone going "Zomg Hardcore games are still here, Ninja Gaiden 2!!!" one game does not excuse an entire industries failings.

Waaa?????

It's a really handy device to have. Great for both MSN messengers, and writing messeges to XBL friends. However, it does weigh the controller down a bit. Overall...worth it!

Both games are awesome, but I actually found Oblivion a little easier to get into.
