@bongaconga: Cause proper survival horror, stealth, cRPGs, ect.. doesn't have enough AWESOME ACTION for all the add kiddies & casuals.
Plus any type of non brain dead puzzles, levels, ect... having to think and actually 'figure something out'...would just have them frustrated and giving up in no time when they don't get it right away.
@aereefrfeend: New versions of Fallout 1/2 would pretty much only need to have a few UI/inventory inconveniences sorted, better companion AI and more tactical combat. Everything else is just fine as it is.
What I'd rather see is New Vegas in the Fallout 1/2 engine.
It's bad enough that Fallout 3 and 4 are pale imitations and bastardizations of a treasured cRPG franchise. "We're huge fans of Fallout" Todd says during Fallout 3's development, and yet Fallout 3 demonstrated a clear lack of understanding of the tone and atmosphere of the classics, the Brotherhood of Steel, the Super Mutants...not to mention Bethesda's absolute shit-tier writing and inability to deliver black humor.
@with_teeth26: They were some good mindless fun (along with CoD 1&2) but Hidden & Dangerous 2 was the best WW2 campaign I've ever played in a shooter by far. It's a shame they don't make em' like this anymore. Maybe someone can convince Daniel Vavra to get on that when he's done with Kingdom Come Deliverance.
Love the setting as opposed to the modern/futuristic ones (when it comes to military shooters)....but WHATEVER.
It's gonna be the same overly scripted, linear, hollywood bs 4 hour campaign where you press forward and shoot guys that pop up....in a different skin.
