Sounds like a good title, but I need the look and feel of the Witcher and Dragon Age series of games. Even first person RPGs I can do, but I have never found pleasure in games like Diablo, Path of Exile, Titan Quest, even though I'll bet they are excellent games. I just don't like games with a top down view.

This does sound as though it is a high quality experience though - just wish it had a third or first person view.

That's an odd hangup to have.

@thelostscribe: Bethesda's FO games are more like crappy spin offs with boring writing (no dark humor), no reactivity and they screwed up the lore too.

@thelostscribe: Bethesda's shot...put a fork in them.

And here's a little secret....they NEVER made a good FO game. Just pale imitations/bastardizations.

@Berserk8989: Obviously not compared with super mainstream AAA studios.

Check out...

Iron Tower (Age of Decadence/Dungeon Rats/upcoming Colony Ship game)

Owlcat games (Pathfinder Kingmaker)

Stygian Software (UnderRail)

Logic Artists (Expeditions Conquistador/Viking)

Harebrained Schemes (Shadowrun games)

Heroic Fantasy Games (Knights of the Chalice 1/2)

Golden Era Games (Grimoire: Heralds of the Winged Exemplar)

Numantian Games (Lords of Xulima)

Whalenought Studios (Serpent in the Staglands/Copper Dreams)

There's also some upcoming ones from first time devs that look promising...

ZA/UM studio (Disco Elysium)

Ceres Games (Realms Beyond)

Legendworks (Call of Saregnar)

Silver Lemur Games (Legend of Amberland)

And that's not all, as there's more I could add to both lists.

@Berserk8989: Out of the bigger studios yea, but there's a bunch other lesser known ones that are good too.

Cain & Boyarski should be able to top anything from Bethesduh, even half trying. Hopefully they move in and steal all the disgruntled Bethesda fans.

@Jdzspace: That's why when it comes to modern RPGs, I stick to cRPGs (which are still getting made, btw) and avoid the AAA crap

@Jdzspace: Bethesda's RPGs since and including Oblivion are shallow, dumbed down and pretty much made for non RPG fans. They showed some promise with Daggerfall & Morrowind, but sold out big time for that casual $$$ after that.
