I think it's a good idea, but it will have major issues just like, or even more so than Gaming Laptops. Because of it's small size. No thanks, i'd take a steam deck, i mean 8.6 teraflops in something this size? Uhh NO. That's more than the card in my Desktop.
This isn't Devs being lazy at all, we're living in the land of 4K TV's (not 1080p), cell phones (not landlines), high speed internet (not dial up), and so on. The Series S is a cheap, hey I can't get a Series X, so let's make MS MORE money and make a weaker console. Even the One X should have been kept in development (production) over the One S/and Series S. Drop those!! The One X is still getting games at Native 4K, the Series X is only twice as powerful. That's not a night and day difference at all, just a weaker CPU in the One X.
Devs don't want to deal with weaker GPUS, and limited memory bandwidth, why would they? Would you? If you're going along, everythings fine, and there's a bump in the road, you need to hit it, or go around. Well devs have been going AROUND the Series S limitations for just over 2 years now. And they're tired of it. So yes drop the thing, MS are a trillion dollar company. In fact they LOSE money with every console they sell. Look at the facts and figures. Save up for the best, get the best, and have no worries. That's all these development teams are asking for a well. Why make it so difficult for them (unnecessarily). Because at the end of the day, no developers, not games..then what? Stop blaming them for the Series S being a (Potato).
@heartlifted: Yeah I love my Pro, Kena Bridge Of Spirits, GOW Ragnorok, Horizon Forbidden West all will look and play great on PS4/Pro. Sony aren't going to shaft 116 million PS4 owners! ;o)
This is going to go on for years, it's not even worth it. 95% of the exclusives are coming to PS4/Pro as well. Wait it out people, paying nearly 1k for a bundle is ridiculous. I bought one from BB (after launch) for retail price and couldn't tell any differences in PS4 titles, exclusives 0 difference. Except the very FEW with 60fps. I hate Demon Souls, and i tried out Godfall, it was horrible, yet beautiful looking. I sold mine on Offerup for $700, don't regret it at all. Got a Series x and a Pro. I'm fine. I don't know that I'll ever buy a PS5 honestly. Sony aren't going to shaft 116 million PS4 owners! ;o)
@xhedon: The PS4 (Slim) even has better looking exclusives than most of the enhanced titles on Xbox One X. With MUCH less powerful hardware, because these guys are wizards at development. You play Uncharted 4 on a Slim/or Pro, tell me it's not the best LOOKING game you've ever seen, and i'll write you a big ole check and empty out my bank account just for you. :). Even God Of War. They are also brilliant, both in story and gameplay. Imagine THAT..FACT. 100 million units sold, gee i wonder why that is? No i don't hate Xbox but I pity the console (as Mr T would say).
