You mean the internet doesn't always live up to your intellectual standards:o I'm shocked. Seriously, though, it's just an internet fad, and it's amusing on occasion. There's no sense getting indignant over some greater social significance you just made up.

without taking into account his healthcare policy i dont know that obama will tax anymore than what we are already. Bush is pretty guilty himself.

but I have a lot of problems with obama's policies that warrant an entirely different thread.

If the elements of his healthcare policy had that significant of an impact on the over all taxation figures, I'm sure there would be more mention than a small side note at the bottom of the article. Assumedly the core elements of each candidates taxation policy have been outlined, or else such an analysis would be useless.

Taxing people in this economy would only make things worse... thats pretty much common sense seeing as people have a hard time paying for things the way it is, the best thing to do is let them have more of their own property... aka money.

On that point, about 90% of Americans would be paying less taxes under Obama than McCain.

I don't know whether people claiming that Obama is the taxation candidate don't know his economic policies, or if we have an over-abundance of people making 112K plus a year.

where obamas policy really stinks is the capital gains tax.

in essense, hes asking for people to stay in their own tax bracket.

which might be more costly to people depending on how they use their money.

then you got health care:

"The center will also incorporate the tax elements of McCain's and Obama's health care proposals when they update their findings."

this didnt take into account obamas universal healthcare idea.

So to say i would be paying less is pretty much like saying youre a psychic.

Right, it's still somewhat variable, but I think it puts it in perspective for people making the claim that Obama is going to tax them to some horrendous degree. The hyperbole surrounding politics is astounding at times.

obama is going to start so many more programs that won't ever be stopped. the money needs to come from somewhere. if he doesn't majorly increase taxes...then we're screwed.

He is increasing taxes. For the rich.
