I have an amd fx 6300 and I am trying to figure out what a good step up would be from it. Should I stick to the A3+ socket and keep the mother board or maybe make the jump to intel. I'm trying to keep the budget in the 300 dollar area. I generally like to play rts like the new war hammer and Rome total war.
I have been out of the loop with Pokemon games since crystal and I am trying to decide between x/y or omega ruby/alpha sapphire. So is one better than the other 3 or are they all good? Thanks in advanced
@KHAndAnime: Yea, when I put the psu in his pc lights on his fans were super dim like almost off. I ended up going to best buy today and buying a cheap thermaltek until I get enough to buy a decent psu(still 80+bronze 650w). I wasn't going to keep using my old one had no idea if it was doing damage underneath the hood or not.
@04dcarraher: yea looking at them right now. The one I had was an ocz before they got bought out. Had it for 6 or 7 years if my memory is right and never had an issue out of it. Sucks because if it is truly dying I don't want to risk frying my mobo of or cpu so I'm stuck without a pc for a while (guess I could read a book)
@04dcarraher: I went to my buddies house with my pc turns out my psu is going out ( have had the psu for 5 or more years) when I put the card into his machine worked just fine and when I put my psu in his machine it started to give bios errors and stuff so I'll just wait till I can get a new one. (Sorry for any bad typing on an iPad)
I got a 980ti g1 and when I install the card and turn the pc on I get "Please power the pc down and connect the pcie cables to the graphics card. I have a 750w power supply and two 8 pin to 6pin +2 connectors going to the card. I used a volt meter to test the pcie cables and each connection is getting the right amount of power (12 volts) so I am confused as to why the pc wont boot.
The same cables and psu run my old 970 just fine
