Gamers need to speak with their wallets and withhold the money asked for these season passes. It's one of the many reasons I am staying away from the "AAA" market at this point. The game industry crash needs to happen to smarten these publishers up.

Yeah, LaPierre, it's not like your organization has been a front for gun lobbying, shamelessly pandering to the flip side of the reactionary gun control argument. Here you are, ignoring the big picture that PEOPLE kill people, whether with guns, knives, sledghammers, automobiles, etc., and you blame media depicting violence. Okay Wayne, I understand; you don't want to contribute anything worthwhile to the discussion. I support banning fully automatic weaponry, high-powered rounds and precision weapons, and high clip capacities for civilian-grade guns, but Wayne is even worse than the outright GUNS ARE EVIL crowd.

Far Cry 2 lacks a cohesive plot, unlike the admittedly inconsistent (more like misfired) plotline of Far Cry 3. Far Cry 3 has FAR more freedom in its game world than Far Cry 2, namely that you can go at the game at your own pace, there's actually a dynamic in-game ecosystem at work, and you're not constantly plagued by respawning outposts and cheating patrols. Some design choices were questionable, such as depending on QT events far too often and for boss fights (that's a BIG NO, given how it was executed here), movement boundaries to missions that break immersion, making multiplayer nearly identical to that of Call Of Duty with killstreaks and run 'n gun gameplay, removing vehicles outright from multiplayer, putting restrictions on user-created maps in multiplayer, and the mishandling of plot elements and characters (Vaas, basically). However, having played Far Cry 2 a bit too much for my liking I've found that FC3 is, in virtually every way that counts, an improvement over that game. Not that FC2 is a bad game, it just felt more like a proof of concept game than anything else, with too many disappointing qualities and lack of overall substance.

I dunno, Crytek, you've lost most of your ability to make a great game experience after your first game, Far Cry. I've played the Crysis games and they're all generally average shooter games. Whereas the original Far Cry was intense and put your skills to the test at almost all times, which for me made the game fun.Speaking of the Far Cry franchise, Crytek really has firm competition now in the form of the latest Far Cry title, which is getting high praise for excellent gameplay and even having solid story & characters. The Crysis games haven't made a mark in this regard yet, even though it looked like Crysis 2 was an attempt at a narrative. Gameplay is too average for me to give it praise. What will Crysis 3 bring to the table this time in terms of GAMEPLAY, Crytek? I could care less how good your game looks and how powerful the engine is, I just want a game that I can enjoy time and time again. Do that, and I'll tag along with the ride.

Solid power to be found in this one, with a nifty keyboard attachment. But it isn't for me.

The only installment you should buy on Steam is TR:TLR, because the version available on PSN is missing a few elements and has multiple game-ending bugs (I got hit by one on one of the pyramid levels late into the game, via the metal gate challenge where if you go into a certain gate first, you'll cause the buttons that you have to press in a combination to not reset). However, the rest shouldn't be missed on PSN; they're $5.99 each (US) and serve the purpose well. At $10 a pop, you're getting ripped off given how old and untouched they are.

You have got to hand it to these game companies for keeping up the art of sugar-coating their reasons for axing their workforces. This is one of the reasons why it's good to go back to basics and go the Indie way, with a small studio simply looking to make their mark with an ambitious game title.

I'll wait and see what people say on how this runs on the Playstation 3 (as I do not own an Xbox 360), and then I'll care about little upgrades like this. By the way, Gamespot's writers must be slow to get scoops on this stuff, because it's been known for a little while now.

It's too bad that consumers support god-awful DLC implementation by purchasing them in the first place. 60 dollars is plenty of money for a single unit of a game you purchase, but DLC is one of the ways companies are getting more and more money from suckers who feel that they don't want to miss out on anything.

However, this pre-order crap needs to state to interested people that this is a timed-exclusive deal; it'll be made available some time after the game's release. But if it isn't made available then you'll know just how superfluous this DLC really is anyway.

@nik0la2 The phrase you should use next time is "could care less." You inadvertently said "I care about a console release."

I never thought this game would translate well, control-wise, to a gamepad. If they allow for keyboard & mouse compatibility on the consoles then it shouldn't be much of a problem, but rapidly selecting items in the hot-bar will be slightly difficult without preset keys for all slots.
