1) Tails Adventure 2

2) Sonic th Hedgehog 4

3) Knuckles game.

DragonQuestHero

Agreed, this would totally rock as long as they stay faithful to the precursors.

Hi, I installed linux (fedora 7 or 8 I think) ages ago, and relatively recently changed the hard drive and backed the old stuff onto the new one. Today, I tried otherOS to see if the backup put it on the new disk, it seems to work, but I cannot for the life of me remember what you are supposed to type at the "kboot:" prompt in order to get to graphical user interface. I've searched on google for ages, some say to type "startx" but this doesn't do anything, it says "not found". Since it is fedora, what am I supposed to type? I am a linux noob so go easy on me, but I had it working fine when I first installed, just forgot all this text interface stuff. Thanks for any help you give!

I keep saying this but it never happens... A Sonic the hedgehog game that is back to what they did best on the game gear/master system and megadrive, that's all they need to do! Ok, the DS and Gameboy advanced sort of went in that direction, but to me, they are trying to be like the 3d sonic games. Make them like the old 2D ones except with HD graphics and fluid animation... it is sure to sell to old fans like me. I very much dislike where sonic has headed since the sega saturn and dreamcast. Maybe we should make a petition? Sonic was originally designed for high-speed 2D platforming, not 3D, it just doesn't work! Knights into Dreams on the other hand, will only work in 3D, yet where has that gone?

its obviously not full 1080p, as it only has 900p max vertical lines, but yes it takes the 1080p signal and does some magical stuff inside the monitor and gives a nice image.

sorry to double post. To answer the linux question, I have only used Fedora 7 and 8 on it, and for both of them, you have to choose your resolution. I remember having to type the resolution in, during installation or something, and when I chose 1080p, the text was too small to read (1:1 pixel ratio?) when I chose 720p it was much more readable but had much less desktop space. I am a noob when it comes to linux so I don't know how to choose other resolutions, but I guess you might be able to choose another resolution?

you don't needa special speaker connection, ps3 lets you use the regular AV output or optical output. I bought an AV (phono) to 3.5mm female jack cable and plugged my PC speakers straight into it, just leave the yellow cable unplugged. I have a 19" LG 1440x900 monitor and it takes 1080p or 720p signals, doesn't like 1080i for some reason... and it also takes the lower resolutions.

I bought this monitor because it was cheap compared to a hdtv, the contrast is good but not as good as a hdtv. I play close up to it like a pc monitor, and provided you activate full range hdmi and super white, it looks great. Some games like oblivion look like they have lines missing from the screen when you move up and down quickly, but other games like uncharted, wipeout hd and mgs4 don't have that, and appear as though they are not upscaled/downscaled. My monitor has DVI input, and I use a hdmi to DVI cable. I've also used my ps3 with a 1080i plasma tv, with hdmi, but forgot to turn on full hdmi and super white but it still looked amazing. Whatever you get, I hope you make the right choice.

Blu ray piracy is old information. Getting the ripped games to play on a ps3 is something else entirely. I wouldn't recommend anyone doing this because Sony has the power to cancel your PSN account and stop you playing online or using PSN if they discover an attempt to play a pirated game. They may even be able to 'brick' your console if you attempt anything like this. If you want the gaming industry to exist in years to come, it's best to buy your games legitimately.

The games I have most enjoyed on PS3 are:

MGS4 : Guns of the Patriots

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Devil May Cry 4

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion

Little Big Planet

I have the following but don't think they are essential:

Motorstorm (very good but very hard and needs more levels)

Resistance Fall of Man (feels outdated and generic now - theres better stuff out there)

Grand Theft Auto 4 (not as much fun stuff to do as GTA San Andreas)

Tekken 5 DR online (very good but its really an updated PS2 game and online is laggy)

Wipeout HD (also good but I find it difficult and theres lots of time trials which I find boring, online is troublesome)

Warhawk (this really depends on you, I don't have the expansion packs, so this might influence my opinion.)

Super Stardust HD (great if you like arcade shooters and aiming to get high scores, but gets boring imo)

Skate. (better off waiting for the sequel... this came out when EA didn't know how to program or port to PS3 properly)

I want to know what the best FPS or shooter is on PS3, as I plan to buy one soon. Dead Space, Far Cry 2 and Resistance 2 are my main candidates so far. I think COD4 is too old now and still goes for £40 (why?), so am thinking away from that game.any suggestions?
