Here's a question for everyone who played the Pub Games to get more money, supposedly for in game use in Fable 2, and played those web games on the splash page of Fable 2. How on God's green Earth am I supposed to retrieve all the gold and goodies I unlocked in those games for use in Fable 2? Each said or at least implied that you'd be able to make use of the items just by starting up the game. Has anyone figured this out?

Ok, while on any other day I would full heartedly agree with you all, I take a different stance when it comes to the new CoD.

Don't get me wrong. I think that WWII has been more than played out. I've done so many damn D-Day missions, I even sometimes have flashbacks (sure, they're a little pixelized and not always of the highest visual quality, but they're still flashbacks).

For the new CoD however, I'm actually looking forward to see if they do the war in the Pacific justice. Lets face it, for any even psuedo-historian (I'm a history major), WWII in the Pacific was far and away from anything experienced in the European theater. It was, for all intents and purposes, a completely different war. The reason I am looking forward to this is to see if the guys over at Treyarch can successfully capture even a fraction of what it must have been like fighting on these island hopping campaigns against a fanatic die hard enemy like the Japanese of that time. I've interviewed a few WWII vets myself, and the war in the Pacific has always intrigued me a little more than the one in Europe (that, and being a Marine, it's kind of just a given). Previous games have attempted to do the Pacific war justice, and so far they have failed miserably (Don't even get me started on that MoH game. Pearl Harbor was about the only good part of it). Hopefully, this being the next-gen and all, they can finally get it right. After this though, no more (well, MAYBE just one more if they don't fit some of the truly historic battles in there such as Iwo Jima or Guadacanal. There were some battles in the Pacific that made most of the European campaign seem like a walk in the park in my opinion).

After this, if they really need to take from historical battles, maybe someone can finally give the Korean War it's due. Maybe make people remember the "forgotten war". Hell, if they can get the jungle warfare feel right with the new CoD, maybe they can make a decent Vietnam game.

Ok, I don't know if I'm crazy, but has anyone else noticed that when you die on MGS4, it looks like there are "strings" attached to Snake, like those seen when fighting Mantis? I've noticed it a few times. If it is really there, then it would be kinda interesting and very Hideo-ish.

So go try dying, and let me know if you see it too. May need an HDTV to see it. Am I crazy?

Oh, and before you all think I'm crazy for passing this up:

-I did get the MGS4 PS3 bundle, so scratch that one off the list.

Ok, I am a multiple console owner (yeah, all of them, not including hand helds). The large majority of my friends own 360's, and as such, when it comes to multi-platform games, I usually get them on 360, just because I have more people to play them with. As a result, pretty much all I'm looking for on my PS3 are the good exclusive titles. I am the furthest from a fanboy of any console, so I'm hoping for as many unbiased opinions on this as possible. So tell me folks, what do you think are the best PS3 exclusives to own or look forward to?

Some of mine are:
-God of War 3
-FFXII
-Possibility of a FFVII remake
-Heavenly Sword (even though I've heard how short it is)
-Motorstorm
-Possibility of Next-Gen Onimusha
-Ability to play as Darth Vader on Soul Calibur IV
-LBP

Any other ideas or fine gems I've passed over?

So looking forward to getting this game. Regardless of the score, I would have gotten it and loved it as much as I did all the other MGS's, but the ten makes it that much sweeter, and is well deserved.

I will say, however, that maybe now people will stop whining about Gamespot being biased toward 360, and maybe just wake up to what I've been saying all along. PS3 just took a while to come out with it's A-list games, and now that it has with MGS 4, it's getting the high scores. That's all. Not that Gamespot is full of PS3 hating 360 fanboys, but that it took PS3 a while to hit their stride.

10/10 = proof positive.

Because it's Microsoft. They love milking products. Remember how long it took them to lower Halo's price?

I can underdstand if most games didn't lower their prices after a year but they do. Only MS's greedy A hole does it, not to mention the only company that charges people to play online. But I geuss sheep will be sheep. Right? Madden Nation? ;)

Ruckuskromm

Wow, you're teetering on ignorant. As my good buddy feryl06 stated (and I'm going to guess you're a PS3 owner by the theme of your rant, Ruckus), they will never lower the price of a game as long as it is selling good. They just won't. So you know, by "they", I mean any half-intelligent business interested in making money, including:
-Sony
-Microsoft
-Nintendo
-...and absolutely any other software company out there.

Only time they will lower the price and slap on the "Platinum Hits" sticker is when it stops selling, then turn around and tell you gullible sheep (yes, that includes you Ruckus) that it's "Platinum" because it's "sold X number of copies and been out for X months". While that may be true of the games that are "Platinum", the main reason is because it stopped selling, and they know if they slap on a shiny "Platinum" embroidered cover, you'll want to check it out in case you haven't already.

Oh, and for your information, MS's "greedy A-hole" charges to play online because you are getting quality service with that, above and beyond what you get through the other systems. You get what you pay for, and that is why XBox Live is still the best in quality, service, and number of customers. And if you want to put it in perspective of how much they are really charging you (even though you make it sound like they are gorging you with the price), it comes out to approximately $4.17 a month when you get the year subscription. OH, SAY IT AIN'T SO MS! SAY IT AIN'T SO! HOW AM I GONNA FEED MAH BABIES?

Will it still be that much when Gears 2 comes out?Bigboi500

Yeah, pretty much the only time they will bring a game down in price is when it stops selling so much. Don't let that "Platinum Title" crap fool you. Yeah, those are games that have sold alot and have been out for a while, but they will not bring down the price as long as they can still get fools to pay full price for it.

Sad but true...

Not me! NOT ME! Never been a fan of games based on the ideal of "lets put alot of half-arsed broken pyshics into one game, slap some cursing, sex, and violence on it and SELL MILLIONS".

Over-rated. Crackdown is a much better sandbox game. So is Saints Row. The shooting mechanics aren't CRAP like they are in GTA, also you create your own character and you aren't a slave to some slap-faced-HBO series rip-off story-line. People have only ever been amused by the repetitive crap play of GTA games simply because its rap as being "OOH SO BRUTAL, SO FEISTY, SO 'MATURE'", when in reality it does nothing new and borrows everything it does do from other games and recreates it very poorly.

Also, in games like Crackdown you have super powers. Not to mention the new Hulk game coming out, as well as Prototype. I'll use those games to fulfill my NEED for sandbox.

GTA just doesn't scream anything exciting to me.

Wow dude, I don't know if I've actually seen a more ignorant post on here before. Bashing GTA for use of sex, violence, and cursing, then praising Saints Row and Crackdown. I love when idiots contradict themselves, but you make it so much easier by doing it all in one post (in case I need to spell it out, Saints Row had about the same amount of violence, sex, and cursing as any GTA). As I said on a previous post, your commenting on GTA's supposed "rip-off story-line" is pretty dumb, especially as it shows how ignorant you are to all the sources GTA pulls from by solely mentioning HBO. Let me guess, you really think Sopranos is the only story these games pull from? How about Goodfellas, Casino, Godfather, SCARFACE, Boys in tha Hood, Menace 2 Society, Miami Vice, and allhe other countless classics it is paying homage and respect to, not copying. It's also called satire. Look it up on dictionary.com.

As far as it "borrowing everything it does from other games and recreating it poorly"? Good god dude, how old were you when GTA III came out? You must have still been watching some Sunday Morning Cartoons, because there was no game that had even near the level of sandbox and open ended feel of GTA III. GTA did not copy and steal from other games. It was the original and the king of sand-box, and everything since then has copied from it.

Oh, and your ability to take something from last gen and compare it to something from this gen when talking about physics and shooting mechanics? Come on, how desperate to make a point do you have to be? All those things you complained about and touted the new games for? Guess what? GTA IV officially blows the games you talked about out of the water with their new physics engine and shooting mechanic. And again with the contradictions. Don't even complain of the so-called repetitiveness of GTA, then even mention Saints Row or especially Crackdown in a positive light. Crackdown was possibly the most repetitive sand box game I've ever played.

So don't bring any more attention to yourself, as you just come of dumb, out to pick a fight, or just as ignorant as all the crappy politicians and news reporters slamming this game without even intelligently arguing or knowing what they are talking about. Yours is not a question of preference like bond21 (who's opinion I actually respect in here), but one of blind slandering.

So to put it in bullet points for you, and make sure I kill the exact points you made, here is where you are wrong and GTA IV is so much greater than any of the crap sandbox games you tout:
-Deepest and most intricate storyline of any of the open-ended, sandbox games out there
-Much improved shooting mechanic (better than Crackdown and Saints Row combined)
-Much improved physics engine (agian, better than Crackdown and Saints Row combined)
-Improved driving mechanic (yet again... ah forget it)
-Largest, most intricately detailed, and beautifully rendered of the sandbox games of this generation
-A much more believable living, breathing city around you at all times of the day
-The level of biting satire that GTA has always brought, and no other has come close to (looking at you Saints Row and Crackdown)
-Helicopters and motorcycles
-More realism than the other two mentioned (I just don't feel like typing the names out anymore)
-A richer, fuller side experience with the establishing of relationships, use of nightlife and hang outs, and dare I say it? Emotional depth.

Last note. All the so-called "Brutal, Feisty, and Mature" crap you're talking about is the same trash that comes out of ignorant politicians mouths. There is absolutely nothing in the scripted storyline that is any more violent or depraved than what has been in any number of crime movies over the last two decades. The only thing that makes it such a big deal with the violence is what people will do when given the free will to do anything they want, which I might add they can do in any of the alternate titles you mentioned. So shove it. You have officially been proven stupid.

'Nuff said.

Lol, dude, ever heared of a quick reply? I mean, look how long each of your messages are! Lmao!

Sorry dude, I tend to rant when around morons. I get a little *too* opinionated I guess.
