IIRC - Dun did duel Lu Bu, and in fact managed a draw. Not everyone can do that. If Dun isn't a warrior, then there are no warriors in Dynasty Warriors - and that would be a problem. He is the quintessential warrior - willing, and able to fight anyone on any terms, including only having half their sight post Cao Xing. Guan Yu's Escape was non-historical, and in any case, even in the novel, Dun never got the chance to duel Guan Yu there - the pursuit was called off, and Cao Cao commended Guan Yu's loyalty to his brethren and duty. I don't think Dun hated Guan Yu/Lu Bu etc. - he just had a healthy disrespect for people's egos. :P

BTW - he was wasted under Cao Pi, because he was about to die of illness - IIRC, Dun died the same year as Cao Cao, so he didn't exactly serve the first Wei emperor for long.

(And yes, Dun is my favorite character too - maybe because I know what its like to be hit with a weapon in an eye (and lose sight out of it for 6 months only, luckily))

How bout just using cities from a particular region - say the central plains area?

We do that, warriors will be ruled out...
