@KingWormer: It's a cop show. In this political climate, people are going to read politics into it whether or not the creators actually intend for it to have any political subtext, so... might as well have subtext that actually reflects their views.
@Brettsky128: Really? That's what you took away from the article? Because all I see is a bunch of statements that the trial could hurt Depp's public image regardless of the outcome - and while I'm personally inclined to believe Depp over Heard, having him admit under oath that he routinely takes enough drugs to get all of the Rolling Stones high doesn't do a whole lot for his public image.
@MkScorpion4400: Yeah, he should be more like George Lucas. He never put any liberal politics in his movies, right?
Well, aside from those scenes in The Phantom Menace that poked fun at the Reagan administration. And the parts of Revenge of the Sith that attacked George W. Bush and the War on Terror. And the originally-intended introductory scene for Luke and Biggs in A New Hope, which took shots at the Vietnam War and the draft. But apart from that, he totally never put any left-wing messages in his movies!
@xeonexs: So, you're arguing that Sony and Disney are committing/have committed acts that would be considered fraud in the US (and most other countries for that matter) and would be punishable by fines in the millions, if not billions of dollars, just to sell some kind of left-wing narrative.
@xeonexs:Just like how all the ticket pre-sale reports for Captain Marvel last year were being made up by Disney, and how the movie ended up bombing, right?
Never mind that falsely reporting sales and/or pre-sales is considered fraud, and would land Sony in a ton of trouble with the SEC. Somehow, I doubt that they care enough about whatever political message they're supposedly trying to push to get massively fined over it.
@ccgod: The two reports don't necessarily contradict one another. It's possible that overall pre-orders of the game are strong, but that the collectors editions are less popular this time around, either from people being alienated by what's been reported in the leaks, or because the pandemic and lockdown has them re-evaluating their spending priorities and dropping down to the vanilla edition.
@AnghellicKarma: Oh, I know that, I was referring to the Wii U specifically versus the Xbox One. And even then, the Xbox One beating what might well be the worst-designed console ever produced by a major manufacturer isn't exactly something to be proud of.
"Almost" lost the race? The only thing preventing the Xbox One finishing last in its generation was Nintendo rummaging through the dumpsters out the back of AMD, crudely gluing what they found together, and presenting it as a new console. And even then, as soon as Nintendo pulled their heads out of their backsides and actually made something decent, it sold more in three years than the Xbox One did in seven!
