Just wanted to say that this is a great article, well written. Makes me excited for this game to be released.

Just looking at Modern Warfare 3 I see startling similarities to MW2 and Black Ops. I realize that, from a marketing perspective, its a sure-hit, something I'm sure Activision will be very pleased with. Battlefield 3, while being a surefire hit, as Bad Company 2 was, seems to actually be innovating rather than just following the COD series. I was sorely disappointed with Black Ops, and while I realize it was Treyarch, not Infinity Ward/Sledgehammer Studios that made it, I was kind of turned off of the series. The games seem to follow a checklist pattern of Michael Bay-esque scripted scenes, aim-down-the-sight gunplay and multiplayer that hasn't been changed since 2007, at least in any significant degree. When I look at what Bad Company 2 did, I'm tempted to check out Battlefield 3, because I know there is going to be something innovative and exciting that has not been done before.
