@Bowser05 @betheltony Cut the cute comments.... First off, I appreciate the coincidence of having someone reply to my nintendo comment be Bowser.... The games being remade was more of a Disney slam. ("We've reopened the Disney vault, and now you can get Cinderella in High Definition") Nintendo seems to have this tenacity of releasing a game, and then years down the line, re-releasing it on a different platform. I'm not referring to the digital content that each of the three big consoles release.
But again, this was entirely subjective to begin with, so both of our comments are useless in the bigger picture. I just get tired of loading up a mario game to see that they decided to give him a squirt gun, play zelda as a costume party, etc.
...and seriously, Mario Party 9? Same thing as Now That's What I Call Music 84
I think of Nintendo the same way I think of Disney. They churn out a few good ideas every now and then, and then destroy them with sequel after sequel! ...and don't forget the games being remade in HD!!! #annoyingbusiness
@Collateral96 @bluepuppy82 Let me put some context in my response.... I do have the Xbox One preordered, alongside the PS4. Am I planning on using the Kinect? ...unknown; however, I'm not happy that I have to get it. This alone does sound kind of whiny, but when you consider that MS is making you purchase it regardless of use, it's fair for people to be frustrated. I wouldn't be surprised if MS considers the Kinect to be (at least) $75 of the X1's retail price. Drop that, and the X1 becomes even more competitive with the PS4. (Understand, I'm only referring to pricing issues here....)
@zintarr @betheltony Ok zintarr... point taken. I did look up some details after seeing your post. Sure enough, they have no franchising. I'm wondering if maybe I misunderstood my friend, or if he embellished a few details. Either way, thanks for correcting me, and my apologies if I misled anyone.
A Gamestop near my house is actually franchised to someone owning four stores. His official title? General Manager. Whereas my friend, who actually manages the store, is an Assistant Manager. I wonder who actually gets the consoles? My friend, or the franchisee who might very well land 8 consoles?
That might very well be the case. However, if you do look at the trend of Eddie Makuch articles (those relevant to consoles), he does display a pretty evident favoritism. Also, when you view the responses on these various articles, they're predominantly pro-PS4. Is that bad?... no. Other than people don't tend to participate in discussions when their side is losing. But again, the question remains, why do people get so worked up over it. Their consoles, selling similar products in very different ways. You get one, skip the other, you've sent your message. Why go on forums/newsthreads to rant about one over another.....
@grbolivar Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I get a feeling that gamespot is a bit biased towards the PS4...or at least the people that post the articles are. Don't get me wrong, I understand the PS4 is 'winning,' I'm merely trying to make it more evident that the PS4 isn't winning by that large of a majority. And where on that site can I pledge Switzerland? I'm neutral, I want both....
@Nergathh Because it doesn't change the hardware. The policies were changed long enough ago (the online BS) that they could update the systems in manufacture. Besides, once you get connected, you're gonna have to download the new OS (for lack of a better term), which will have any tweaks in the software.
