I've had fun with it, but like the above poster, I've had a few problems with it.To be expected from a launch game.

i'm sorry, TC, but your prediction is quite unfounded. the article, itself also an assumption, merely listed Sony as one of the possible targets for Apple's future acquisition. Neither Steve Jobs nor Apple has stated that one such acquisition has indeed been set in motion, not to mention Sony's part in this whole thing.

update - i just verified with my girlfriend, who's doing a degree of accountancy. unless we're talking about an ailing company, which Sony is not, a sum prepared for takeover MUST equal the total asset worth, and in most cases will hugely exceed that amount for the sake of goodwill. 50 billion isn't even half of Sony's worth..... simply put, it's impossible.

Taijiquan

Excuse me. My prediction???? All I did was post a link to something I read, and found amusing. I don't want this to happen, But your girlfriend needs to check her figures again.

Sonys market capitalization is at 34.03 billion currently SNE
Apple has 51 billion cash at hand

why cant they buy Sony again?

Electronic Arts market capitalization is at 5.22 billion ERTS
again Apple has 51 billion cash at hand

Why do people believe apple is still some company down on its luck. Even though the rumor has been dismissed, if they wanted to, please believe they could afford both with some change left over

Unfortunately you may have how this process would work confused. In order for this to work,

1) Hostile take over is not possible. Apple's board would NEVER go for spending that much cash even if they could get the stock for what it is selling for today.... it is WAY to risky, even for Apple. They would need a mergerSony acceptance for a takeover acquistion. If this was the case we would all know because right now Sony's stock would be worth a lot less.

2) Sony wants to sell.... which they don't. The board and primary shareholders would have to pretty much unanimously want to unload the company, if Apple came aggressive, which would cost them everything they have which they don't have, Sony's stock would sky rocket making it that much harder.

Even if this was possible, which it is NOT what benefit would Apple have? Apple and Sony of old are very much a like. Akio Morita of Sony fame was one of Job's heros early Apple years. They shared a similar vision and were very much a like in their ability to artistically innovate. As far as Apple having the money to get Sony, no.

Unfortunately you need to learn to read an entire forum before quoting someone. If you would have seen my next post, you would have seen that I knew this. But you didnt, and now you just typed a lot of stuff that has already been said. GTFO.

Also. WTF does this mean?

Unfortunately you may have how this process would work

i verified the numbers and you are right. i've mistaken Sony's total asset value (over 100 billion, including liability) as its market cap (31 billion). it's my fault though, she just interpreted the data i gave her.

in any case, since i have been proven wrong, feel free to ignore my opinion.

No prob. This still is not going to happen though. Sony has to want to sell, and if they don't there are ways to prevent Apple from buying shares. Poison pill for example. I see no upside of this for apple. There are other ways for them to get into whatever new market they are looking at, other than buying a HUGE company.

I personally think Adobe would be their best bet. They are sitting on 51 billion, and it sounds like its burning a hole in their pocket.

At 18 you should've been running 7 and at 28 probably 10s if not constantly working out. Of course if you are overweight than its understandable.

STurn21

At 28 he hasn't even reached his physical prime yet (low-mid 30s). There is no reason why he can't run 7s now with a little work.

.Since when does your average person hit their physical prime at that age?

Most everything I've read states that early 30's is the prime age. As long as you are not beating your self up in sports.

I'm 33, have always been active, and right now the best shape of my life
